Strontium Citrate 340 Mg 60 Capsules

Due to a recent bone density test indicating that my osteoporosis was getting much worse in a specific area, my doctor recommended taking strontium along with oyster shell calcium. The explanation for this is that strontium, which is an element, binds to calcium making the bones stronger. Oyster shell calcium is far superior than others due to it's high absorbancy feature. I found the Swanson brand on Amazon and ordered both products. Although they're not yet part of Prime two-day delivery yet, I was willing to wait for the delivery. The strontium comes in an easy-to-swallow capsule which I take twice a day. After extensive research on both of these products and Swanson's reputation, I feel confident that these products are safe, manufactured in USA, and authentic. When my package arrived, one of the bottles was damaged and the pills were spilling out into the mailing bag. I contacted Swanson through Amazon and received an almost instant message from Swanson saying they would replace the broken bottle at no cost. Thank you Swanson! I'll certainly be using Swanson again.

Horrible intestinal issues and my back pain became much worse while taking this. As soon as I stopped taking it, the back pain and intestinal issues went away.

We like Swanson's products alot.. and love that we can get them on Amazon and have the free shipping! We've heard the Strontium is VERY GOOD for bones and actually rebuilds bones.. so we take it all the time.

I am using 2 of these capsules to equal one Algae Cal Strontium capsule. These are half the strength so I use 4 to equal 2 of those, but I stagger taking them by about 30 minutes. My idea, not necessarily suggested by anyone else. I take 2 then the other two, about 30 minutes later. This is in addition to my regular use of Algae Cal regular calcium capsules. (I have read that our bodies can only absorb approx. 500 mg of calcium at a time.)

Swanson Company is great. This product was shipped timely. Not sure if I will continue with product. Some studies give conflicting reports on Strontium use.In order to help increase Bone Mineral Density (BMD), over 1,000 mg of strontium has to be ingested daily(versus a few mg / day obtained through normal food intake), and while those amounts are well tolerated by some patients, various medical problems may be experienced by other patients, which include dental caries,nausea, abdominal spasms, headaches, skin irritation, swollen glands, fainting, memory problems, diarrhea,difficulty breathing, rickets, blood clots, headaches, or seizures. Additional caution is required by those with kidney problems, have a history of venous blood clots, or have an intolerance to aspartame, which is found in Protelos.
