Works well!
I purchased one which sounded good on snare so I tried it on the floor tom. Sounded good there too so I bought two more! Magnet tabs allow for adjustable dampening at four levels: full, 2/3, 1/3, or off.

It does work quite well
I was initially hesitant due to the price but I saw quite a few people rave about this. I have been using the remo tone control rings for my snare for decades. They are cheap, guaranteed to work and you can even make them from an old drum head to save money. The issue is they can sometimes dampen a bit too much if you like a little ring. Also you have to tape them to your head in case you accidentally fling it off with your stick. The snare weight seems to have just enough dampening and it clips on the head. You can reduce dampening by folding the sides to the center with magnets, but I find that it's perfect (for me) open. My snare is a Ludwig Universal 6.5 x 14 black nickel over brass, so I want a taste of that brass ring without the overtone and the snare weight really worked for me.

Well worth it!
I love everything about this product! I have one for every drum, except the bass drum. I will admit that putting them on the drum can be a challenge at first, but it is easier than it seems. You have to place the split on the outer edge of the rim and slowly wiggle it on. It is very secure. You can adjust the length on the sides by using the tiny magnets to fold it in towards the middle. You Cannot attach it to a wooden rim! To overcome that, I just place it on the head. If you are a heavy hitter, it might bounce around on you, so experiment to see what works best for you. Do not store them in any position but flat. The material is leather and it will hold that previous shape. Personally, I keep them on the drums and store them in their cases that way. They are well worth the price, very functional, and easy to once you get used to putting them on and taking them off.

Dear Snareweight
I really like your products, I have three M80’s for my snares and larger toms. I have two M1b’s for my smaller toms. They make my drums sound better, dampening just the right amount of overtones while still allowing the drums to sound natural. Pros: o M1b good size for smaller toms o M1b good size for orchestral snares (where some overtones are needed) o M80 good size for snares and larger toms o Dampens just enough overtones to keep drums sounding natural o Better than Evans E-Ring and Aquarian Studio Rings (these are pretty good at removing overtones but deadens some drums too much) o Better than Moon Gel – which can get messy but works if that’s all you got, good for some situations where location/placement is important o Black Gaffer tape (I like) – is good overall at keeping drums sounding natural and reducing overtones, but Snareweight is a more user friendly / elegant solution Cons: o Pricey if you need a bunch o Sometimes package mislabeled (color) – see photos o Grain and quality of leather can vary (may get one with stiffer leather, may get one with softer leather) Currently using Snareweight on: Yamaha Recording Custom 5 piece - Birch Ludwig LM402 Supraphonic Snare Drum - 14x6.5 Aluminum Pearl Philharmonic Concert Snare - 14x5 Maple

Try it!
I love these. Versatile, functional and secure. I haven't tried every option out there because these do exactly what I wanted at a reasonable price.

The best drum dampeners I have found.
I have tried all the different types of drum dampeners on the market, as well as the usual DIY solutions, and these are, by far, the best dampeners I have found. They dampen the drum without "choking" the head. They are easy to put on and take off. They are adjustable, allowing you to get just the right amount of dampening for each individual drum. And, finally, they seem to be pretty durable as mine are holding up to almost daily use for the last several months and are no worse for the wear. They're not cheap, but they are worth the expense in my opinion!

Love this company and I love that I can finally have a product to dampen my drums that doesn’t leave behind a sticky residue or is hard to travel with. A have a few of these I keep in my stick bag and can quickly tame a house kit or backline kit. Then pop them off and backnin my stick bag. I have had them for a few years now and they work great just like the day I got them
