DO YOU NEED TO EASE PAIN & DE-STRESS YOUR BODY? Inversion therapy is an ancient way of decompressing and reducing stress on the spine - a natural method of pain management and prevention. The discs between the bones of the spine are quite soft and gravity naturally compresses them over the years. It’s one of the reasons we often lose height as we age.The discs get smaller and more compressed over time - they can even leak and irritate surrounding nerves. Decompressing your spine by lying or hanging upside down allows the discs to expand. It also reduces nerve pressure and allows the spine to realign. The father of medicine, Hippocrates, is known to have invented a form of inversion around 400 BC for his patients by using a system of ladders and ropes to relieve pressure on their spines. Inversion can relieve back pain and sciatica and brings numerous other benefits as well, including: Preventing loss of height Anti-aging Reducing stress Improving posture Help insomnia Improved digestion and elimination Improved hormones Better menstruation/menopause Better mood Brighter complexion Increased hair growth Plus many more This book explains why it works, how it works, and how to get started. You’ll discover the different types of inversion equipment, including approximate prices and the advantages & disadvantages of each. By regularly inverting, you could make a massive difference to your health. The cost is minimal compared to the benefits. Slant boards cost from just $50, or you could make your own following the guidance in this book. All you need is a long piece of plywood, some wood to make a frame for the plywood top, and a piece of carpet as a covering (essential so it isn't slippy!). Inverting is unusual in that it is relaxing yet invigorating. Inverting in the mornings is a great way to start your day and inverting before bed is very relaxing and can help sleep (especially when done as part of a regularly bedtime routine). Beauty Benefits The beauty benefits of inversion are one of its best-kept secrets. When we invert, we nourish our facial skin with fresh blood flow. That means extra nutrients and oxygen. Lymph flow is also increased, taking wastes away more efficiently. The result is skin that looks and feels years younger. It plumps up, brightens, and glows. Not to be overlooked is the effect on hair. Providing better blood flow to the head means that the hair is more nourished - resulting in stronger, glossy hair that growsmore quickly than you can believe! Contraindications While the benefits of inversion therapy are many, sadly there are people who are unable to invert due to certain health conditions. The main ones are: Cardiovascular disease High blood pressure Glaucoma That's because inversion temporarily raises blood pressure. Pregnancy is another condition that may mean inversion is - temporarily - not a great idea. To be safe, it really is best to check with your physician before starting inversion - just in case you have an undiagnosed illness that would be contraindicated, or something that you physician knows could be made worse by inverting. If you can't invert or have to stop temporarily, you can improve your health tremendously by doing a few simple things: Don't lean forward habitually when sitting. Don't hold your breath - many of us do while working on a computer (it's called 'email apnea', a wonderful term invented by the technology writer Linda Stone). Take up regularly swimming. The movement is very beneficial and the bouyancy of the water reduces the effect of gravity on the body. These tips are covered in more detail in Appendix 1. Review: Great inversion guide - I am so glad I got this book on inversion. I really enjoyed how well researched it was and found it to be insightful, easy to read and understand and very well laid out. The background information on why to do it, how to do it, all the health benefits, etc. I felt was all very well done and described in such a way that I want to try this myself. I'm inspired to act like a bat now and get inverted! Review: Good, but missing some vital information - I found some useful information in this book, but some of the main info I was looking for was not there. I’ve owned an inversion table for about five years but until recently hadn’t used it that often. Becoming more aware of all the health benefits of it, I’ve decided to make this part of my daily routine. I bought this book hoping to find info on the best way to go about this. One of my main inquiries was how often to do it and for how long. Well, the book did address the how often part- once a day starting out, up to twice a day thereafter. But practically no information was given regarding amount of time. The only info presented regarding time is “start slowly, just give it a minute or two..just do a couple minutes each time for the first few days.. don’t do longer than five minutes the first month”. Ok, great. But what about after the first few days? Should I move up to 5 minutes then? And how many days would I stay at 5 minutes? What about after the first month? What is the ideal amount of time to work towards? Can maximum benefit be achieved in 10 or 15 minutes, or would that require 30 minutes or longer? Or can I stay at 5 minutes and still get just as much benefit? I really wish this information would have been included.

But it is a good introductory to the practice
It really didn't provide that much more information than I had already found on the internet. But it is a good introductory to the practice. I have a bad hip and lower back pain and use my inversion machine twice a day to relieve the pain. This book does give instructions on how to assemble your own low impact version at home--very cheaply. But I got my machine on Amazon for just under a hundred bucks... just look around?

I got the real thing
I got the same book I saw on Amazon. It was new and I love it. I didn't have this book. I am a former Weeki Wachee Mermaid. It is filled with great pictures and the history of Weeki Wachee which started in 1945. Visit Weeki Wachee Spring of Mermaids. Website-- The roadside attraction was made a State Park in 2008. Mermaid shows are still performed. I was a Mermaid for two years 1961-1963. I have several postcards still for sale. They are still so popular even after 62 years. So much to say. If you are interested you will have a lot to look forward to.

Important guide and educational tool before embarking on Inversion Therapy
Most interesting book! Purchased as a guide to an inversion table. I learned about use, cautions and who/who not should use this type of therapy. A great introduction to an old type of health tool. Definite read fir everyone including medical personnel.

Easy to read
Yes, you can find all this information, if you do the research. The point to this book is that the research is already done for you! Easy to read, short and straight to the point. I am very glad that I purchased this book, it has given me many new ideas as to why inversion is good for overall health. If you’re like me, and hane no time to do all this research yourself, this book is for you!

This really sucks
So many typing errors. The writer really pulled this one out of her ass. She goes into all this random stuff that's totally off topic like about how her daughter was anorexic, and stuff about hair and skin care--being sure to promote her book about skin brushing. Some of us have serious back pain and don't want to hear about your beauty regimen. Book doesn't have a broad scope. It didn't even mention aerial yoga and how much superior that is to using an inversion table. (At my physical therapist's office at one of the best medical schools in the country, they don't even have an inversion table and they said it doesn't really help. They said it would be better to do an aggressive yoga routine (like three hours or so a day) if you want to actually get over your pain. The book barely touches on yoga, it just says some stuff about doing headstands and then goes into this crazy thing about how maybe yoga isn't for Christians because it could go against their religious beliefs.

Not worth the money.
I was looking for information on how to use my new inversion table. There were only 3-4 useful pages. The book explains everything inversion helps with but I wanted information on how to use the table. A waste of money. I read the entire book in 15 minutes.

Fantastic piece of equipment
Could not recommend this device more for people suffering from sciatic back pain. I have suffered varying degrees of pain for over fifteen years from bulging discs to lumbar spine. Consequently I have been required to take some very powerful drugs to manage pain. Since using the Inversion Table the most powerful pill I have taken is paracetamol as the table has helped realign my back and take pressure off my bulging discs giving them time to rehydrate and move back into position. I would not be without this magical piece of equipment.

Grateful that I can try something other then surgery.
Finally it’s here, yes. I so needed this book, at age 60+ I am in a lot of pain with my own sciatica issues and it’s gotten worse as the years have dragged on. I have just been impatient waiting for this book to arrive so I can finally try to do something about it. Surgery is my last resort. So far from what I have read and skimmed through, it is very interesting and informative. Truly looking forward to reading it all. Thank you Mia Campbell for your insight and knowledge - for those of us who endure the pain that sciatica can cause - this book gives us options and ideas on how we can do something about it, without surgery. Thank you so much. Now I’m just saving the monies needed for the inversion table, with COVID19 its gonna take awhile. To all, please be safe during these horrific times.

If you are in the slightest intrested in inverion therapy buy this book
Good book, on the back of it :) I purchased a inversion table, which I use every day. The book has all the information you would need if you want to consider this type of activity either to help with a bad back or for exercising. Suggest you buy and read this book then talk to your doctor (who will probably be a waste of time though! it would appear that most of them know nothing about inversion therapy whatsoever)
