I thought this was R2-D2

Actually I have several of these units named R2-D2, R2-D3, R2-D4 Labeled on the outside as a Joke. However it is the best shop vac I have ever purchased - price has doubled since the last buy in 2014 but they are still working fine. By far the quietest shop vacs I have ever owned, almost never have to use ear plugs unless I'm using it long term, quieter than our cheaper household type vacuums we have.

Are the filters available anywhere?

The replacement filters can be purchased through Vacmaster. The replacement filters for this item are: VCFF, VCFS, VFF51, VDBP.

Is it good for dog hair?

Works on all kinds of hair. I have a cat and dog...and over 90% of my body is furry as well. One flip of the switch, and couple of fancy maneuvering with the vacumaster; and voila..spick and span.

Does this one blow all the dust around out the back whilst you are trying to clean up like another brand I tried ?

I believe this person meant, does the exhaust air coming out the back, blow dust around that’s not in the vac but rather in the floor or something similar?
