Can be used with Insteon IR Receiver 2411R by swapping two wires
Can be easily rewired to work with (discontinued) Insteon IR Receiver 2411R. Those Insteon IR receivers have reverse tip and ring connections compared to usual IR sensor tip, ring, sleave. Typical IR sensor like this one is wired as tip = vcc, ring = IR signal, sleeve = Gnd. Instead IR sensors are wired as tip = IR signal, ring = IR vcc, sleeve = Gnd. This sensor can be readily rewired by popping out its back plate, removing the circuit board and desoldering/soldering two wires of its cable to swap position of red (tip) and white (ring) wires on circuit board. Put it back together and you have a working replacement for an impossible to find IR sensor for Insteon IR Receiver 2411R

Worked exactly as we'd hoped.
Just received these two extenders and tested them out on two different Arris cable TV boxes from Verizon; one main DVR unit and one satellite unit and they both work perfectly. We now do not need to be nearly so accurate in pointing the remote controls and if there happens to be something hiding the sensor in the terminal box, operation isn't affected in any way. So far, very satisfied; recommended without hesitation, as long as they are suitable for the equipment you intend to use them with.
