A thyroid that didn't work...even with the "ideal" non-dessicated Thyroid doses. I was in complete hormone hell. I saw more doctors....the options were more hormones. I'd been in stirrups too many times. I'd endured pelvic u/s to learn of my multiple cysts, and underwent a really painful endometrial biopsy:( I'd trusted too many times. Gynecologists seemed uncaring and unaware and UNABLE to help me with my problem. I was stressed...but more, I was SICK OF IT ALL. (AN AWESOME BOOK ON FEMALE HEALTH EVEN IF YOU DON'T HAVE PCOS). I bought some Vitex, and some Myo & C-Chiro Inositol, and some Saw Palmetto. SEVEN days later....the heavens opened and I had a period after 95 days of nothing but pelvic pain and no bleeding. I immediately knew something was working....because instead of just unfamiliar pelvic pain - the old pre-menstrual mechanics, that felt familiar, started to happen. *I'll have to provide an update as I attempt to completely regulate my cycle. But, I now believe I can.* Note: I was nowhere near menopause when I started my foray into Bioidentical Hormone Therapy (BHRT) treatment. My advice is: Seek natural options. Learn as much as you can. Don't place your health blindly in the hands of allopathic doctors. I'm out for now....but I am so thankful for this book!!!! Dr. Fiona is an absolute Einstein, humanitarian, and just overall Rock Star. Her book has been a God-Send....and I hope other health care professionals - particularly naturopaths that possess incredibly specialized knowledge - start sharing with the world like Dr. Fiona did. It is sometimes impossible in some locales to find ANY doctor who will look at root causes and special cases.... Sometimes self-help is all one is left with!!! Thank God for doctors like Dr. Fiona who supply such detailed, yet simple information on natural remedies (but also listing the traditional medicine RX) that are available. This book is an A+++++. Bonus: She knew what the heck MTHFR was. I have a copy of the C677T mutation....and I love that she credits it as an issue to be dealt with while managing your hormones!!!! Review: Best Holistic Approach to PCOS - I bought this book because I saw a YouTube video of Dr. Fiona as a guest on a PCOS podcast. I was specifically looking for info on natural ways of dealing with PCOS and perimenopause and I saw that this book had a section on that so I got it. It's the book I wish I would have had 30 years ago. I've been trying to treat my PCOS naturally for just about that long. Back when you couldn't even buy Myo or D-chiro inositol and had to eat buckwheat and cantaloupe to get it, BUT were trying to limit carbs. In the past 6 months, without knowing this book existed, I've implement 90% of what is in this book because my numbers (A1C, insulin, testosterone, etc.) started looking scarier than ever. I do natural treatments, so through research, I was able to get a regimen down and have been vigilant for 6 months, as opposed to skating by for the past 20 years. The same week I bought this book, I had my numbers tested again. As I read each chapter and checked off the things I'd changed (almost everything she suggests. I do eat more beef than she recommends -but locally raised, grass fed, and I still do dairy -but raw and only cheese and cream), my results started trickling in. A1C well within normal limits, fasting insulin down to normal, testosterone from extremely high to normal. It all confirmed that this is the right track for me. I've lost 75lbs, 45 of that in the past 5 months. I've gone from size 28 to 18. I still have a long way to go and this book showed me where I can improve. Even though my iron is "lab normal" she recommends getting it to optimal (above 70) to stop and reverse hair loss. And there are a couple of supplements I didn't think were super important, but she does a great job of explaining why they are, so I'll start those. The section on menopause was helpful and I'd love to see her write a whole book on that! If you have PCOS and are looking for results, GET THIS BOOK and implement the recommendations. Especially if you're naturally minded.

Best Book On PCOS...losing weight and feeling better!
I have read a lot of books on PCOS and hormones since I have been diagnosed about 10 years ago (I am now 31) Dr. Fiona's book is by far the best book on PCOS I have ever read. She breaks it all down what your endocrine is doing and why you are having the symptoms. She then goes step by step with supplements and diet on how you can help your body reverse your PCOS. One of the top things I loved about this book she is didn't just name off a supplement but gave a description of what it does for PCOS and how much of that supplement you should be taking to see an effective change. I had taken some of those supplements she recommends but when I saw what she recommended in dosing I was so off. I was taking far to little to see healing in my body. The diet part of the book was super eye opening as well. I have been gluten free for awhile now, and minimize my sugar intake, and low carb as much as I can, but I am still eating some higher carb things (like rice). Dr. Fiona introduces how we should eat to according how foods spike our insulin not only focus on blood sugar. Anyways, lets get to the nitty gritty. I have done the diet to best of my ability for over a month now (only cheated like 3 times on, cheese at a resturant). I added an arrange of supplements about 3 weeks ago as well. I am happy to inform that I feel a lot better! My acne is about 75% improved, I've lost 8 pounds, and started my period yesterday. I don't deal with facial or body hair, but I have excessive hair loss on my head. I know to see a visiable improvement on hair growth will at least take 6 months. This has been a huge blessing to me. I can't wait to see how my body changed over the next 3-6 months.

Es uno de los mejores libros que leí sobre este síntoma medio "misterioso". Los procesos muy complejos están explicados en una manera muy sencilla y clara. Lo recomiendo muchísimo para cualquier mujer que lucha contra SOP!

bisher gibts ja fast nur englische bewertungen, drum hier mal eine auf deutsch. das ist ein sehr sehr gutes buch zum thema pcos, zu beginn ist es eher allgemein gehalten (definition: was ist pcos?, ernährungs tipps, diäten etc.) und danach gehts dann schon ziemlich genau in die pathophysiologie, wie was wo auf zellulärer ebene stattfindet und vor allem was man dagegen unternehmen kann. die autorin geht auf die verschiedenen pcos typen ein, erklärt nicht nur die naturheilkundlichen aspekte der therapie sondern gibt auch eine gute übersicht über die schulmedizinischen hilfen und therapien, die es aktuell gibt. einen arztbesuch ersetzt dieses buch natürlich nicht, aber für interessierte zum thema ist es auf jedenfall sehr lehrreich, gut zu lesen (einfaches englisch sowie einige medizinische begriffe - im deutschen zT sehr ähnlich) und es sind einige tips dabei, die man im täglichen leben gut umsetzen kann, um sich selbst etwas abhilfe zu verschaffen!

The absolute best book to read because of the way she’s explains everything . Breaks it down in such strategic way where you really understand how everything is connected and all scientific based . I love her approach and by far the best doctor I’ve ever seen that explains about this topic

I found this book to be amazing . There is a lot of information but easy to understand. Reading this book and case studies I felt like I was reading about myself . I also learned more about myself and symptoms I occasionally have that I did not know were related to my pcos . I have tried the traditional route to achieve pregnancy ( medicated cycles , IUI, IVF) and have not been successful. I feel more empowered and armed with a solution to my struggles after reading this book . Highly recommend if you are struggling with fertility , weight issues , inflammation
