Simple but seems to do the job
This tape seems simple but appears to do a good job of reflecting heat so it doesn’t heat your intake pipe through exposure to hot temperatures in the engine bay. Many years ago, when I was young and less informed, I decided to install a “cold air” intake in my 2002 Expedition because it looked cool, sounded cool and promised additional numbers I quite did not understand. Fast forward almost two decades and now that I really appreciate my cars, I was left hoping I had not throw away the original intake assembly.Having thought of installing a closed-box intake to reduce exposure to hot air, I decided to first try these type of products before spending a couple of hundreds in another kit.As far as testing, I ran the car without the tape in the early morning, with a Miami temperature of 89 F, while taking my kid to school, and noticed that within 15 minutes of driving, the temperature spread between the intake and the ambient temperature was between 30-40 degrees (89F ambient, 119-130 IAT) at idle. While cruising at 35-45mph, the temperature difference was between 9-15 degrees, which is not bad.Once I taped the intake, I idled the car for about 20 minutes and noticed that the temperature spread was not more than 5 degrees more or less (87 ambient, 90-92 IAT). Obviously this is not an apple to apple test, yet, since the engine is bound to get hotter during periods of acceleration and idling while routine driving, so I am looking forward to testing it tomorrow in our morning drive to school, at the same time, same route, same speeds and likely similar ambient temperatureInstalling was easy but patience is key. I did, however, not have enough to fully wrap the pipe components with this 15’ roll, and am weary about spending another $30 for another roll unless I see true benefits. I did see other much cheaper rolls listed here, but probably are just gimmicks so didn’t want to waste my time as this brand was recommended by multiple online reviews. In theory, it seems like a sure way to care for your engine by providing it fresh ambient like air temperatures, which translate into better performance and likely less strain, more so for an older engine like this. And seeing how I like to drive my 2002 Expedition more than my 2025 Suburban, I want this thing to last as long as I can get it to!

Works well and looks great!
I have used this product on a few applications and have monitored intake air temperatures are reduced and consistent.

Great tape, add some spray adhesive to be safe
Absolutely gorgeous, definitely keeps my intake temps down. As per the heed of other peoples reviews around the internet with premature peeling of the tape, I first sprayed the item I was wrapping with 3M super 77 spray adhesive. In my case I wrapped a turbo inlet I built as it is located across my turbos hot side. Before wrapping the intake, my first few drives with the car showed heat soak after full strong pulls, especially when it is hotter outside.I installed the tape by measuring the diameter (3" in my case) and added roughly 1/8" just for complete coverage. It took a while, but I flipped every strip over and also sprayed the 3M adhesive to the back side. After a few hrs of operation, one with higher engine temps the tape performed as expected, was cool to the touch shortly after shutting down the vehicle and showed zero signs of sagging or peeling up. A few drives and days later and same results. Even sprayed it off with water to clean the road debris off.One last thing worth mentioning, any sort of radius is going to be difficult to wrap. For this I cut the wrap in half and used shorter 1.5"-2" strips to get 180 degrees of coverage properly. If you are wrapping an intake or intercooler piping and your filter or coupler is rated for same diameter, I recommend leaving the gold tape back just enough for your filter to clamp on. In my case I am running a K&N 3" cone and it was too snug to fit over the gold wrap. After a few frustrating attempts I eventually ended up scrapping one 3" section as it had gotten too beat up during attempts to install my filter to consider presentable.See attached picture of my engine for reference.

Good product, easy to use
I used this to wrap my turbo inlet pipes and cold air pipe and am pretty happy with it. The tape is fairly easy to work with. I did notice the adhesive was a bit weak however cleaning the surfaces with denatured alcohol before applying the tape helped quite a bit. I hope the tape holds up to the heat under the hood. I have not yet installed my pipes so I can't say anything about the heat reflecting properties yet.

Used it on my starter.
I was having issues with heat soak on the starter of my Camaro. This, paired with a heat sleeve, seem to have done the trick, no hard starts! The adhesive is very strong. And the tape is easy to cut and shape into what you need.

Worth every penny!
I have a 2008 Accord Coupe 2.4l I bought it with around 168k.Oh, yes, it's red and the paint job is horrible I'm not painter but this heat wrap works! Period! I don't think the pain adds anything other than color it is an engine or under the hood high temp paint. I track my gas mileage using Car Care app and I'm currently up to almost 19mpg and it's probably 85-90% local driving. Doing app deliveries. Side note I drive with windows down, su roof open and sometimes the air on along with too so. If I shut the windows I might be over 20mph local.I don't cheat my gas milage if it's not a full full fill up I don't click so it won't do the math until it's an actual fill up.Before purchase I found a YouTube video where a guy took his 04-08 TL with cold air intake and did a before and after with the tape and he had it hooked up to the computer that showed the air intake into his engine was 30 degrees cooler with the tape.Hooe this info helps.

You can tell the quality
Although this is my first time working with wrap tape and I could’ve done a better job, I felt like I did an okay job for my first time. I may decide to redo it at a later date if I decide I’m unhappy with it or if the tape starts to peel due to improper installation.I installed it on my S&B CAI on my 2017 Suburban. The S&B was definitely a solid upgrade but I’ve noticed that the pipe face gets hotter on the bottom versus the top. After the install, I ran the truck for approximately 10 minutes and after doing a couple of pulls, I did notice that it felt cooler than usual on the bottom face of the pipe. Being that I live in a hot and humid climate, I’m looking for anything that can help temps during the brutal summer months and after reading the reviews, I weighed the possible benefits versus the cost and it was a no brainer.I’ve driven the truck for several hundred miles and overall, it seems to be holding up. I would recommend that you remove the pipe (like I did) apply the tape in sections as it does like to be applied straight. Lesson learned on my part and that’s why I may decide to redo it in the future. The tape it self feels like a quality product. I was afraid of receiving essentially gold tape but after researching several products on Amazon, I came across this one and decided to pull the trigger. I’ve left some photos in this review for reference.
