How long before the coating begins to wear off?

I have had my 2sets for just about a year and have been putting them in dishwasher. The black coating is peeling off. L wrote the company and because my year ended last month they refused to replace one salad fork that is peeling off very badly! Terrible customer service as they said l shouldn’t put them in dishwasher when it clearly says in ad that it’s dishwasher safe!! Don’t buy this set!!

Is the "head" of the dinner fork larger than the salad fork or is just the overall length longer? The picture sort of makes it look the same size.
