These play read like mini-novels
Each of Chayefsky's plays is a gem. The dialogue and characters capture and endear us to aspects of the human condition visible to the author, not so obvious to the rest of us. It helps to have an affection for New York Jews, and a complete absence of political correctness. Comedy, tragedy and wry philosophy have rarely been so well woven into unforgettable entertainment.
