Once you figure out that the color of your programming button determines its generation, and compatibility, this otherwise confusing task becomes a no brainer. The two remotes are made cheaply but come with a 2032 cell installed and have the same range as the $30 unit that the previous homeowner left me, which has some kind of brand name on it. Just like the listing indicates, these only work with Purple Button Chamberlain and compatible openers, not the old DIP switch style, or newer generations Setup literally takes 5 seconds. The big contoured button makes it easy to find and push the button without looking, so you can stick this somewhere in your car that's inconspicuous and still hit the button in the dark without futzing around. Neat. I'm happy with it.

I may have an older garage door opener, but it still works great. These simple one button remotes still easily program and work great!
