What's not to like?
I have sent a review 2 other times but Amazon said I violated their policies somehow. So I'm hoping this one makes it in. I purchased the P636 V2 and tried it out inside my home for a month or so to be sure everything worked okay and then packed it away for about a year waiting for an opportunity to install it in its intended location. That came in October. About a week after installation I lost the IR light and the PT of PTZ. I looked at the warranty period which to my surprise was two years. I wrote Sunba and explained my issues and from that Robin P. determined that it was a failed motherboard. He said I could send it to them for repair or he could send me a new motherboard which I could install with the help of a video he would send me. I chose the latter and had no issues at all replacing the motherboard which fixed the problems. First, let me say that over the years I have used PTZ cameras from many manufacturers, from the least expensive to one of the most expensive zooms and many in between. No camera has given me anyway near the quality of stream that this camera produces, and the zoom ability is simply amazing. Adding digital zoom on top of the 36x optical zoom results in image magnification that everyone wants but few are willing to pay for. The tracking feature of this camera is not of interest to me so I haven’t tried it, but everything else works extremely well. The IR lights are powerful and more than adequate, the PTZ aspects are very smooth and always return to exact positioning, and the FTP works well. Instead of using a micro SD card I chose to have the videos and snaps sent to my NAS. The vids are ts files which I am able to play and the snaps are in jpg format. From my perspective this camera is very impressive and I will certainly consider Sunba products for future camera needs. And you can’t go wrong with their customer service. I had several back and forths with Robin and the responses were always the next day (in China) and very helpful. While customer service isn’t usually a deciding factor when choosing a technology product, maybe it should be.

Great PTZ networked camera for observing local wildlife
I have ordered a number of speed dome video cameras from various venders over the years as a retired biologist. I enjoy doing wildlife research here in Northern California. Every manufacture has had good points and minor faults. I final ordered a Sunba Perormance 636 PTZ to monitor the Western Bluebird entrance nestbox activity near my home. The camera is well built for outdoor pole installation and was very easy to setup on my outdoor wired CAT5e network. For me, the LARGE print manual was a BIG plus. I did not have to break out my hand lens to read the setup and user manual. Furthermore, when setup at the nest location, I was taken back by the image quality. You can see individual feathers as the birds come and go from the nest box entrance. With our very warm winter so far here in California, the birds are checking out nesting cavity locations already. I did need assistance with setting up the photo trigger capture sequence needed to capture images of the Bluebirds as they come and go through the nest box hole. Robin, one of the Sunba tech representatives helped me install the required SD memory card in the camera. He even called me at home to make sure all was going well with my installation. There is email support, phone support, an 800 number, and Sumba can help with issues by computer screen sharing if desired. An appointment is needed for that service. So far, I have not needed that support. To sum things up, if you want a sturdy, will built, networked PTZ camera with the best of real-world support, I would look at this Sunda 636 PTZ camera. You will not find a better camera for the price.

Another Chineese Dumpster Fire Disguised as a Product
On the surface, the hardware feels solid—like it might actually do something useful. But don't be fooled. The entire experience is a total write-off. The “features” are barely functional, and browser support? Good luck. It’s completely broken in Safari and Chrome, and I honestly have no idea what it does work with—maybe a time machine to 2010. Auto-tracking is a disaster. It doesn’t just underperform—it flat-out fails. It’s like they programmed it drunk and called it AI. And yes, I meant to say it twice. That’s how bad it is. RTSP? Only available in some weird multicast-only mode that makes it useless for most setups. RTMP? Push-only, so forget about any real flexibility. Want to stream or integrate it cleanly? You’re out of luck. Then there’s the iPhone app—which isn’t even made by Sunba. It’s some off-the-shelf generic garbage filled with error messages that look like they were run through Google Translate five times. “Live view not supports MJPEG.” Seriously? That’s the level of polish you get. This camera is a textbook example of bloated Chinese zombie-ware. The marketing lists a bunch of features that are either broken, missing, or totally fake. It’s all flash, no function—a landfill-bound box of empty promises. AI mode is the "Intelligent" tab and trust me.... there's nothing intelligent there. Avoid at all costs.
