PsychNotes: Clinical Pocket Guide

Starting a new RN job in psych and this book has been so helpful in refreshing my memory in mental health. Definitely a must have!!

Great up to date information and small but too thick to carry in your pocket however definitely worth the price!

I’ve looked through a few different quick reference guides and this takes the cake. It has just about everything: Basics, Assessments, Disorders and Interventions, Drugs/Labs, Drugs Alphabetized, Crisis and even Geri Psych. I wish I had this during nursing school because it would have been a huge help. I also love that it’s spiral bound, small enough to actually fit in your pocket and waterproof- you can write on it with a ballpoint pen and wipe off with an alcohol wipe. Awesome little reference guide!

Nice guide but shipping caused a deep fold on front cover. Needs to be shipped more securely.

It was a required item for my class. I got it at a better price than from my school, and it worked out even better because I was able to use a gift card. Good book.

I already have a BS in psych and I’m getting my BSN-RN before working a few years as a psych RN and then gaining my PMHNP. This book is meant to follow me for years to come into my NP practice, and it is perfect for just that. It’s practically a psychology and psychiatry/psychopharmacology textbook in one. I can’t bring myself to purchase any pocket psych assessment guides or pocket psych med guides or pocket DSM-5’s because this is all three and a bag of chips. Seriously, this is an invaluable tool for students, psych RN’s, psych NP’s, counselors, clinical psychologists, psychiatrists, drug rehabilitation technicians, literally anyone who works with mental illness regularly in a medical sense/setting. The fact you can fill out the assessment pages in ballpoint pen, chart the results, and then wipe it off with an alcohol wipe for reuse is just genius. Can’t recommend enough, truly!
