Mine does not.** A: Mine does beep when you take the temp and when it is done. Overall, this updated model is not as good as my older Braun. **Q: why is my temp 37??** A: Do not feel about about the 37..Amazon sent me a 15$ oral thermometer , piece of plastic garbage, and no way to switch to fahrenheit. If people cannot be polite, stay to your self..do not let the rude comments of those that think they are brilliant ..must be a friend of Fauci... **Q: Is Fahrenheit an option on this device?** A: Yes. However, I can not recommend this product. I get different readings so it does not seem reliable. It also annoyingly makes you select the age each time you take a temp. **Q: Can adults use this?** A: Babies, preteens, adults.
