This unit worked as described. Easy to use and understand. Definitely helped me confirm the wall and wood cabinet were dry after repairing a leak underneath the bathroom sink.

I am sure there are other meters out there that do more but I just needed to prove there was moisture in some hardwood floors we were refinishing and this meter performed like a champ. Easy to use, easy to read, and proved me right! Everything I want in a tool.

Generally works. I'm a first time user of moisture meters. It was easy to set up and use, but my confidence level isn't high because it seems to have a lot of variability. I wish there had been more information on where on the wood to use it and where the best reliability to measure is. For example, I get a different reading on a smooth surface versus a rough surface versus an end cut surface. I think the more I get used to it, the more confidence I'll get. We'll see.

I have no idea on the accuracy, but it is great for sensing areas that have more moisture than others. I use it for checking out Boat fiberglass.

This is a nice budget capacitive meter with good analog and digital display. It measures dielectric permeability at 32MHz. It is rather sensitive, but as with all such devices, it needs a way to interpret the measurements. You can clearly see that it is sensitive to what is under the surface of the wood piece, and the same board of 3/4" shows 10% moisture when nothing is below, and 12% when the same board is stacked below. The same problem exists with all such meters, and it is important to calibrate it against professional instruments. But it is handy to detect leaks and moist area on drywall, roofing underlayment and decide whether hardwood flooring is ready for installation.

The unit was delivered on time and the packaging is fine. The 9v battery was dead upon arrival and the unit was likely used. The back clearly showed signs of use. That said, with a new battery, the unit worked just fine. The moisture readings provided were within the expected range of the boards. The display was easy to read and the rubber side grips made it easy to use correctly. The unit is fine, but I might seek a different seller to assure it is new and unused.
