At some point I think I spilled something on my original remote and although I cleaned it off, the power button was becoming increasingly finicky to work. I was just going to pop it apart and clean off area under the button, but LG made the remote so that it cannot be taken apart (like older remotes). So no way to repair it even though all the other buttons I use work. Dont you hate that right-to-repair laws are not enforced in the U.S? So I ordered a cheap off brand replacement off ebay for like $6. It worked fine, BUT, the off brand remote did not have a button for GUIDE. I checked other off brand ones and they also did not have a guide button. I watch the free LG channels all the time so, I kinda need that button. The buttons on the off-brand ones were also slightly different placements. Not really an issue but I kept accidentally hitting input when I wanted "tv" because those buttons were switched. So I gave in and paid 3x more for the og LG one. *sighs*. It really seems like it shouldn't be more than $10 with shipping. but it is what it is. This LG one I bought has the guide button and appears to be identical to the original. Sure wish the remote could just be popped apart so I could wipe down the area around the power button and fix it instead of spending a total of $20 because im too lazy to walk 8 ft to my tv to manually turn it off or on. DAMN MY LAZINESS! Also just incase LG R&D are reading this. This remote has a flaw that perhaps was not noticed when designing it. The shape makes it prone to rocking when placed on a hard surface. like a side table of coffee table. The rocking is like,, its almost like it was designed to rock back and forth. and its crazy annoying. every time I would sit it down it would sit there and rock back and forth and make noise for like a whole minute. like.. absurd. I had to tape a piece of foam to the back side so it would stop the incessant rocking. what a weird thing for a tv remote to do. it only rocks on hard surfaces but thats where I keep it so. did no one in R&D notices that the back side is designed to sit and rock back and forth efficiently so that it will do so for way longer than you would think was possible. its just bizarre. please fix that with your next remote. I am a long time and future LG tv/monitor customer since yall have the best color tech. but damn that rocking remote.

Works spectacularly! I was starting to worry I'd be stuck using a remote app subscription just to turn on my TV after my last replacement attempt was a total dud. But this one worked instantly—no setup, no pairing, just pop in the batteries and go. A perfect replacement. 10/10—saved me from paying $30+ a year just to use my TV. (And that was the cheapest app I found!)
