Life changer!
I've been working from home for 10+ years and I've recently taken interest in a minimalist desk setup. A more expensive brand of light kept coming up on popular influencer's blogs and videos but I just couldn't fathom spending that much on a lamp. I'm happy to report that this Xiaomi light exceeds my expectations for the price point. It's well built, feels premium, and works brilliantly (no pun intended). I appreciate that the wireless remote is included as I find it frustrating that competitors make you purchase one separately. Naturally I have some hesitation about buying products from lesser known manufacturers, but in this case I'm extremely satisfied and glad I bought this light. I titled this review as a life changer because it really has made an improvement on my desk setup and fatigue looking at my monitor 10+ hours a day. I had a desk lamp before which didn't illuminate my desk very well, was a nuisance in my periphery, and cluttered my desk space. The light bar has made a difference because it draws my attention and focus to just my monitor. If you're on the fence about which light bar to go with, I highly recommend this one. It's well priced, great quality, and easy to use right out of the box.

Fantastic light with just one problem
This monitor light is fantastic. It's wider than what I'm used to, but that makes it actually evenly cover more of the monitor screen. The puck is great. At first I thought I wouldn't use it, but being able to adjust the light and turn it off and on without having to deal with a cord (the puck wirelessly connects to the light) is fantastic for keeping the workspace looking uncluttered. The only drawback of this is that the light was built for thicker monitors. If you have a thin OLED monitor and try to perch this light on top of it, it will topple over if you jiggle your desk or monitor even a little. However, there is a cheap fix: get a cardboard box, cut out a bunch of small 1" x 2" pieces, stack them, tape them to form one block, then use a couple of rubber bands to secure this cardboard block to the inside of the monitor clip (i.e. between the back of your monitor and the clip). You'll have to do a tiny bit of trial and error to figure out how many cardboard pieces to use when you make your cardboard block. Once you do this, the light is securely attached to your monitor.

Very, VERY pleased with this light!
I was honestly surprised at the quality, brightness and functionality of this light. The light itself attaches securely to the top of your monitor, and doesn't shake or vibrate. There is a separate remote control that looks a lot like a hockey puck. The fit and finish of both the light and the remote control puck are great. They're soft, matte black and look great. The remote allows you to change the brightness level, and to change the temperature from the light from a warmer, more yellow light to a brighter white light. I honestly can not reccomend this light enough. It is more on the budget side of monitor lights, but it really is fantastic.

I kept this over the Screen Bar Halo!
I ended up buying 2 of these rather than keeping the much more expensive Screen Bar Halo. This product gets compared to it quite a bit, so I figured I share my experience with them. The build quality is good; it won't leave you dying to pay more than twice the price for such a slight upgrade. This really holds up well. The remote is great, and I'm using a single remote to control 2 of these lamps — syncing both to 1 remote is very fast and easy. The quality of light is good, although the Screen Bar Halo beats it out — by a small margin. This product also gets very bright, but thankfully dims down more than the Halo, which was a big win for me. The light trajectory is NOT as good as the Halo, but in my time using the Halo I realized I couldn't leave it on while working all of the time simply because it was always too bright. Though I'm not really getting glare (and any light contamination hitting my screen is really my concern), I'm still not actively working with them on 24/7 (but they're on while I type this up!). The real negative was mounting. Though I measured my monitors before I made the purchase, they did not quite fit. After a few minutes of modifying these lights (probably not what the manufacturer wants to hear), they fit great — and don't budge at all even when my desk height changes. Overall I'm pretty pleased; I tried the pricier option, but I'm actually just a bit happier with this one... and for less than half the price!

Quality with an affordable price.
I love this light. It feels heavy like a quality light, and mine has fallen twice with no issues. The controls are easy and the lighting is perfect .

Best of the budget pack. Any more expensive, then you might as well get a BenQ.
I was researching vigorously on whether to purchase this Xiaomi Light Bar or the BenQ Halo Light bar. I believe the difference in price between the two units is about $100, with the Xiaomi being the more affordable option. I'll admit, I was wowed by all the bells and whistles that the BenQ Halo had to offer, but I'd figure I'd try the Xiaomi Lightbar first. And if I didn't like it, I'd just give it to my sister. But it turns out I really like this light bar. It's really the lack of bells and whistles that make me like this product so much. It's a very straight-forward product. I won't describe it here, but everything that it does, it does well enough. It's bright enough for my needs, when working late at night, and the color temperatures are sufficient as well. I don't need it to have crazy colors or blinking lights; I just need a cooler tone for the day, and a warmer tone for the evening. The wireless remote for the unit is cool, but a little flimsy. It's a matte black dial, with no etchings or descriptors on it, which fits the aesthetic of my desk. So that's a plus. When actually using it though, the dial feels flimsy, like the disk is about to unscrew itself. You press-in to turn the light bar on or off, but sometimes it doesn't register my press, which can be annoying. The one thing that I do like on the BenQ Halo is that there is an attachment that you can purchase that sits on the top of the light bar mount to hang your webcam off of. My webcam doesn't seem to want to work with my haphazard rigging onto the light bar, so it's off to the side, which isn't a great angle. Oh well. Overall, I really liked that I went with this Xiaomi light bar as opposed to the BenQ Halo light bar. I realized that I don't really need all the bells and whistles that the Halo offers, and that this Xiaomi bar is the best of the budget group. Besides the wireless remote, I haven't had much problems with this product. It tells me that sometimes all the bells and whistles of a product can get in the way of what you simply need sometimes.

Suddenly stopped working
I bought this item July 6, 2022 so in all fairness I have been using it for a few years, but this light bar has sat atop my monitor since the first day I got it; the remote control sat in the same spot in my desk the entire time. I changed the batteries a couple times over the years and worked great. All of a sudden my remote control stopped working. I tried replacing the batteries, held down the button for 20 seconds to re-pair the control and didn’t do anything. At least my light was turned on when the remote control stopped working so the light is on, but I have to physically unplug/plug in to turn the light off/on. I’ve tried reaching out to Xiaomi and haven’t heard anything. Their live chat is absolutely trash, they have you wait for 30+ mins for a live agent and then no one shows up, you just get a pop-up to submit a survey response on how their service was. It’s trash. But I guess you get what you pay for. Disposable goods

Best Monitor Light Bar I've Had
I really love this light bar! It helped me with my studies and other work. Although the price tag is quite high, it's worth it. I also loved the adjustable button it gave me. Highly recommended to students or professionals who need a desk lamp.
