Bought this to run from the router to a hub point and the flat design made it much easier to route neatly than a standard round Ethernet cable. Performance has been excellent. I’m using it on a gigabit connection and it has had no problem delivering the speeds I expected, with a stable connection and no noticeable issues. Good quality, easy to route and does exactly what I needed it to do. Very happy with it.

I’ve had this cable in place for several months now and it has been completely reliable. The connection has stayed stable, I haven’t noticed any dropouts, and there have been no problems with the plugs or the cable itself. The braided outer layer gives it a more durable feel than a basic Ethernet cable and it still looks in very good condition despite being routed around the room. The flat design also makes it easier to run neatly along walls and around furniture without creating too much bulk. Once installed, I’ve basically been able to forget about it, which is probably the best thing you can say about a network cable. It has simply kept working without any issues and feels like it should last a long time.

Build and Finish This is the strongest part of the product. The nylon braiding is tightly woven with no loose ends, and the moulded strain relief where the cable meets the connector is substantially thicker than on the budget cables I’ve used before — that join is where cheap cables always fail first. The RJ45 connectors feel solid, the gold plating is even, and the retaining clips have a positive, audible click with no wobble in the port. Mine arrived in a Velcro cable tie, and the cable took its shape within a day or two rather than fighting me with coil memory, which I half expected at 5m. Real-world performance Here’s where I’d urge some honesty. Cat 8 is rated for 40Gbps at 2000MHz, but that spec exists for short switch-to-switch runs in data centres. To actually see 40Gbps you need 40GBASE-T network cards and switches at both ends, and essentially no consumer kit has them. My own setup makes the point. I’m on Virgin Gig1 through a Hub 5, and the Hub 5 does have a 2.5Gbps port — but my PS5 Pro can’t use it, because a 2024 flagship console still ships with a 1000BASE-T Ethernet port. Wired to the console I get a steady 925Mbps, which is simply where gigabit Ethernet lands once you subtract protocol overhead. That’s not my line speed and it isn’t the cable’s fault; it’s the console’s port, and no cable in existence will change it. This one is rated for forty times more than the fastest thing I can plug it into. The S/FTP shielding is genuinely useful given where mine runs, behind a TV unit alongside mains flex and several power bricks, and I’ve had no issues at all. Worth noting, though, that shielding only fully does its job when it’s grounded through shielded ports at both ends, and most domestic routers use unshielded jacks. The drawbacks The thickness is the real trade-off. The braiding and shielding make this a chunky, fairly stiff cable with a wide bend radius. Running it tight along a skirting board or trying to fold it neatly behind an AV unit takes more effort than a thin flat cable, and the moulded boot is bulky enough that it’s a snug fit in tightly-spaced ports on some devices. If you’re routing under carpet or through a tight cable channel, measure first. Should you buy it? If you want a hard-wearing, well-shielded cable that will outlast several consoles and routers, this is a good buy and I’d recommend it. If you’re buying it because you think 40Gbps will get you more than a Cat 6 would out of a console or PC, it won’t, and you’d save money going a category or two down. Four stars: excellent construction and completely reliable, marked down only for the stiffness and bulk, which are a genuine nuisance in tight installations.

Fantastic cable and the flat profile means it runs along the skirting board with no issues. Running 1gbps through it with no issues. Even though it's flat the cable coating is thick enough to prevent damage but I found it a little tricky on tight corners but other than that, perfect for the job!

今迄、cat6/20m の極薄ケーブルを使っていて、取り回しは良かったのですが、強度不足でコネクター部分が直ぐに断線してしまっていました。この商品は、丈夫そうだったので、購入してみました。厚さは1.4mmから3.5mmに増えましたが、かなり丈夫そうです。そして、同じ20mですが、何度測っても、スピードが倍以上出る様になりました。コネクター部分もしっかりしていて、爪も破損しなさそうです。また、ケーブル固定用具が同梱されていて、壁面固定に役立ちました。
