Aluminum layer - can your bags act as faraday cages?

I have not tested this so I cannot say if they can or not. I do know that aluminum foil does, and it works very well.

I don’t know however, I bought two packs of 20 pcs each. They are perfect, I used all of them, each bag with one 2000cc oxygen absorber.

Safe for water storage? Any leaking issues?

I use mine for food storage. I have to seal them with a flat iron...so I dont think they will work for water. I did get some that have a ziplock seal included -but this was not that version.

One of the reviews says your bags melted with a hot iron. Should a cloth be placed between the iron and mylar bag when heat sealing to prevent melt?

Good thick sturdy bags. The oxygen absorbers, I don't think work but, that's hard to tell. Either way, no issues with this purchase to prevent me from buying again. When I did the light test, every back I tested did have pin holes that let light throuh. Not a big deal for my application. They hold a vacuum and I keep them out of light.

There is no way to close the bag!!!! I used mailing tape, so that will be fun everytime I have to get in and out of it.
