It stays outside all the time in the New England spring, summer, and fall. We bring it inside in the winter. It’s first charged we plugged it in. From then on the solar panel has powered it. It is always charged outside which is exactly what I wanted. We go out to the pool and can just turn it on and it powers right up. Even after the winter it didn’t need to be plugged in to charge just charged from the solar panels. Other wireless speakers would lose a charge then we’d go to bring them outside and they would need to be charged. This just always read when needed. It stays charged as long as the solar panel is placed where it gets full sun. I bring it in when I know it is going to rain just to protect it, but It has been out in the rain a few times and held up fine. It connects really well and seems to have a good distance. It will connect when I am in the house so I have to be sure to disconnect it on my phone. It easy to move but the sound seems better when placed higher up like on a table.
