Banking the Billionaire is book 3 in Max Monroe's bad boy series

Banking the Billionaire is book 3 in Max Monroe's bad boy series.Wes Lancaster is the billionaire owner of the Mavericks, who lust after the teams new doctor/single mother Winnie from the minute he first sees her. Winnie is equally lusting after Wes, but because of her past relationship, she keeps her feelings lock inside. Until one hot steamy night at an hotel changes everything. The easy banter between the 2 is off the charts hot and the sex even hotter. They find themselves falling in love with each other but their own insecurities gets the best of them and Wes calls it quits. Will Winnie take Wes back?I had a hard time reading this book. The overall story line was sweet. I really loved how Wes was with Winnie's 6 year old daughter Lexi but I found myself wishing they would come clean about their feeling sooner than they did.

After finishing Banking Her (Billionaire Bad Boys, #2.5) I had to immediately start Scoring the Billionaire. I really, really wanted to know what was going to end up happening between self-professed ladies man Wes and single mom Winnie.Scoring the Billionaire wasn't exactly what I was expecting. It didn't have the same rom-com feeling as the rest of the series. There was still Max Monroe's great writing, over the top humor and super sexiness, but it had a more serious feel to it. Wes and Winnie had more at stake in this novel than the characters in the other novels.Wes has been kind of mystery to me in this series. I knew he was a wealthy ladies man who owned a football team and restaurant, but I had no clue what made him tick. His story went a lot deeper than I expected. Wes had some real commitment issues and getting to know why showed what a decent guy he truly was. Even though I wanted to kill him at times, I loved him. Winnie was an amazing woman. She took the toughest parts of her life and made them the brightest. I empathized with her the entire time and understood her hesitation to have faith in a relationship with Wes.Together, Wes and Winnie were one hot tamale. Their story may have been heavier than Georgie and Kline's or Cassie and Thatch's, but it was just as sensual. Every time they were in the same room I was fanning myself. Their connections was so intense!I loved Wes and Winnie, but my favorite part of this story was Lexi. I loved her so much! She was just so special. Her character brought so many amazing aspects to Scoring the Billionaire. She made me have faith in Wes when I didn't want to. She made me love Winnie even more. Lexi completely stole the show!Even though Scoring the Billionaire wasn't quite the rom-com the rest of the series was, I still absolutely loved it. I cannot wait to read the last novella in the series, Scoring Her. I'm looking forward to seeing how Max Monroe finishes off this amazing series. Plus, I want more Wes, Winnie, Georgie, Kline, Cassie and Thatch!

    Wes + Winnie + Lexi = A Winning Combination!

*by A***R on Reviewed in the United States on January 25, 2017*

Wes and Winnie’s story is the focus of the fifth installment in the Billionaire Bad Boys series. He’s a prolific businessman whose strongest relationship exists between him and his work, which revolves around ownership of a successful NYC eatery and the New York Mavericks, an NFL team. She’s the new team physician and puts the players’ health before everything else, including the team’s chance at a playoff spot.Initially drawn to Winnie’s looks, Wes’s attraction multiplies from the allure of her intelligence, wit, strong work ethic, sass, and sense of humor. The same applies to Winnie, with an added side of loneliness coupled with an ongoing sexual dry spell. No longer able to ignore their chemistry, they give in to their desires and realize just how good they are together. In the weeks that follow their initial encounter, they spend more time together and discover how much better their lives would be with each other in them. The self-proclaimed career bachelor soon finds himself falling in love with two women – Winnie and her six-year-old daughter, Lexi. And this love is unlike anything he’s ever felt. It’s so raw and all-consuming that Wes finds himself wanting things he never thought were in the cards for him. For the first time in his life, he wants a family. Although Winnie wants the same thing, especially for Lexi’s sake, she doubts Wes’s ability to put her little girl first. Lexi has already endured one deadbeat father figure, and Winnie would rather not see history repeat itself. Wes is poised to do whatever it takes to prove himself, but when the lure of a lucrative deal is too tempting to ignore, he realizes he may not have what it takes to be the kind of man Lexi and Winnie deserve. He has to dig deep and fight hard to get the ending he, Winnie, and Lexi truly deserve. This was a great addition to the series. I’d been curious about Wes’s backstory ever since he appeared in Tapping the Billionaire, and it did NOT disappoint this reader. Plenty of Max Monroe’s trademark witty banter and well-placed humor kept the story interesting, which in turn kept me turning pages at a fast pace. As with the other books, I adored the appearances of Kline, Georgia, Thatch, and Cassie. Definitely a good read that I have no problem recommending to others.
