Great for restringing our cheap dulcimer
Kids decided to take it up again and by now the strings were dull. These new strings work great.

Great dulcimer strings
Use the four string DAA tuning on my dulcimer. The strings are not too bright, but have a warm tone. Tuned up straight away and sounds great. Just what I was hoping for.

Fine, except ...
I ordered 3 sets of these strings for a mountain dulcimer. When I opened the first set and began installing the strings, I noticed that the tin playing of the 0.14 (A) string is corroded. The other strings are fine. I opened one of the other packets of strings and did not see corrosion on the 0.14 string there, so I guess the other one is a QC problem. All the strings tuned up OK and sound good. The corrosion on the A string is visible and tactile; so I’m a bit concerned about its durability. We’ll see how it goes. The string set was not expensive, and I know they’re very long-lived. They sound good too I’ve used d’Addario strings on violins and had no such quality issues.

Great Strings!
Not much can be said about musical instrument strings really, except that they tune and play great just as they should. I have not had any trouble with breakage, and thus far have bene pretty reliable.

The Price Is Right (and so is the sound)!
My father found an old Washburn dulcimer at a garage sale for $5; the guy at the sale said it was a "wall hanger". Well my father, who has never met something he could not fix repaired it, actually carved some missing tuner knobs from wood, and then shortened and re-used some old banjo strings. The dulcimer sounded decent and held tune. Now it sounds even better with the proper strings on it. Anyway, I bought 2 sets based on good reviews, and those good reviews are justified. I recommend buying these.
