Can I put these in a hollow handle knife w/o fear of spontaneous combustion?

1) Get rid of your hollow handle knife. The Chinese versions are crap and if you're carrying a Schrade it's essentially Chinese crap. 2) Get yourself an American made Ontario blade, preferably one of the Spec Plus models and put your fire gear in your pack where it belongs.3) You're never going to find yourself stranded in the "Great White North" with nothing but your Chinese hollow handle knife and a fuel tablet. If you do, you most likely made terrible life decisions and deserve to be consumed by a polar bear.4) I'm not a chemist and I have no idea what causes spontaneous combustion (didn't they debunk that on Myth Busters?)

It has a lot of health warnings on the package. Words like formaldehyde, harmful acute and chronic effects. Is this safe to start my Bbq coals with?!

Remember, packaging for all common locations will require warnings ... I had a warning on a bottle of water stating the bottle can be hazardous (sorry ... no more hazardous than the same PET item sold in another state without the warning). Yes, this is made with many scary chemicals. But, none as scary as are IN HUMANS. These are carried by British troups... yes.. those people who have a bit more reach than the USA troups. I have used them off and on for a long time and carry in my emergency bag as well. Other than crumbling, they pretty much are fine even after 5 years sitting in the trunk of a car with external heat over 100f.

I found a package in the fold able stove they came in with a ripped corner in the plastic. 1 tab was 1/2 gone the rest had a thin layer deteriorated away, they were at least 20 years old outside under cover, they all worked fine. amazing.

What temperature does it burn?

HelloI have looked at the packaging and it does not list the burn temperature. It does state that one tablet with burn for 9 minutes and burning multiple tables will increase the head and decrease the cooking time.Sincerely;Barbara J.Customer Service ManagerLittle Folks Book and Toy
