Actually bought a second one
I love that it not only seals the plastic bags but, mason jars also. I also vacuum seal meds in small mason jars to keep them fresh it's nice not having to pull out my large vacuum sealer with the mason jar attachment to do the jobs. This comes with 2 spare caps for wide mouth jars and 2 spare caps for regular mason jars. AND, it's not only battery operated but usb operated. I've had these hand held vacuum sealers in the past (other brands) and, they can eat up the batteries quite quickly and, since the compartment has a screw, it's not a quick operation replacing the batteries when they run out. Bought a back up sealer and, they also sell bags so, I got a bunch of them too. Happy with this purchase.

A/C or Battery Powered
Bought this for our motorhome because I could put it in a drawer. I had previously ordered a battery only model that included the batteries installed, but when I received it, the batteries were corroded and it didn't work and I had to return it. I was happy to find this dual power model that did not come with batteries so there was no chance that it would have corroded batteries. It is a little noisy, but so is the counter model electric sealer that I have. I love that you can use it on their brand of zip lock baggies. Love this small kitchen appliance!

I like it because it operates on both battery and electric
I like it because it operates on both battery and electric, and does an excellent job of extracting the air from sealer-bags. It has a good quality feel to it (not cheap), but it’s made in China, and the device has no brand name of any type, or other product markings associated with it. As a rule, if I can't locate a kind-word about an item other than where it's being sold, then it's a "try at my own risk." If it holds- up for the long run then I would say “it’s well worth the expense,” which is a fare price considering its ability to run on both battery and electric. Although it’s performing as expected for now, and I do indeed like it, I won’t give it five stars because I can’t find any additional history/reviews on it other than it comes from China. Other than that, I would say it’s well worth a try and see for yourself, It’s your-call! The Amazon links below will take you to three different Vacuum Sealer kits (all on Amazon) which all four appear to have sprung from the same manufacturing source, they all look like mine, but having different price points, from $7 to $50, Pay close attention to the descriptions because there are differences in the devices, but you are the judge. This unit works well with the "Food Saver" brand zip-bag. I wish Amazon would display/group all-alike-items together which would allow purchasers to make a more informed decision before we buy. 1-Handheld Vacuum Sealer Food Saver Handy Vacuum Sealer with Adapter: Handheld Vacuum Sealer Food Saver Handy Vacuum Sealer with Adapter, Household Vacuum Machine, Small Kitchen Appliance for Food Preservation 2-Gimmicks and Gizmos Handheld Reusable Vacuum Sealer Kit: Gimmicks and Gizmos Handheld Reusable Vacuum Sealer Kit 3-Debbie Meyer GeniusVac Vacuum Bag Sealer (Vacuum Seal Food Storage System: Debbie Meyer GeniusVac Vacuum Bag Sealer (Vacuum Seal Food Storage System) 4-Debbie Meyers Resource Partner DMGV3QB GenuisVac Vacuum Seal Food Storage System: Debbie Meyers Resource Partner DMGV3QB GenuisVac Vacuum Seal Food Storage Syste Help this helps.

Worked With Jar Attachment
I had a corded foodsaver handheld that served me for many, many years for canisters that I store spaghetti in and sealing dry goods like rice or beans in canning jars with the jar attachment. They no longer make or sell the model that served my needs so well. I was sealing brown rice in quart jars when it stopped working. I also have a very old foodsaver vacuum sealer with no bells or whistles that still works for vacuum sealing bagged items. It has a spot to attach a hose, so I ordered a hose attachment, but could not get it to work with the jar adapter. The bare bones machine I have doesn't have controls that would allow me to just vacuum. When I ordered this device, I thought it might work if I removed the clear cap and just used the small tip with my jar attachment, but I tried that first and it didn't work. It does work with the clear cap on by centering the nozzle over the top of the jar adapter. After I sealed the 3 quart jars that remained after my beloved handheld died, I read the instructions. In the future, I'll be cautious not to run it too long at a time to keep from destroying the internal motor. I'll keep the thing in place and just use short periods until the vacuum is formed. I really wish Foodsaver still made and sold the corded handheld that finally died on me because it was absolutely wonderful and served me well for many years. Mine was corded and had a base that the handheld rested in. I'm not a fan of their new handheld devices and wasn't about to purchase an expensive vacuum sealer for the retractable handheld on the new ones. My old bare bones model still works for vacuum sealing bags. I have no idea how many years I had and used that device, but I know I purchased it a long time ago.

Not consistent
I found this difficult to use with the sealing bags. Sometimes it would work. Sometimes it wouldn’t work. Of course it could be my error or the bagsz It is not easy to use and get consistent results.

Must use it correctly
Amazon says this is a "frequently returned" item. When I first used it, I didn't do it right and couldn't get the bag to take any suction at all. I was holding the bag and pressing it against the vacuum hold in the bag, and absolutely nothing happened. The machine was doing its part, but no vacuum in the bag. THEN I put the bag down on the table, used the vacuum machine again with a gallon bag. It only took a few seconds for it to vacuum out the air. Now I always put the bag down on the table and it always works properly. Absolutely love this machine with zipper vacuum bags. These are GREAT for keeping salad fresh. I buy the premixed salad at the store, then put it in a zipper bag and vacuum it as soon as I get home.

Works great!

Absolutely love it. Easy to use. Great for storing dehydrated foods and herbs. I recommend warming lids in hot water so rubber makes a good deal.

It has good strong suction with the a/c adapter. I don't know how the suction is with batteries since I have no reason to try it that way.
