A Poor Excuse for a Dragon (Step into Reading)

Good book for children

My six year old grandson is really starting to read, but we have trouble finding engaging books that he wants to re-read. This one was a complete hit! Really cute story with lovely illustrations. I would purchase again!

My daughter dislikes reading books so I got many of this level and they are quick for her to read.

Bought this for my grandson's birthday, and he loves the book.

My children love this story so much, they are 8,3 and 1. We take turns reading it to each other at least 3times a week. It’s one of their favorites!

My daughter loved reading this story about an adorable dragon.

My almost 9 year old loves this book and it had him laughing the whole way through! Cute for younger kids too. My 4 year old liked listening to her older brother read it to her. Great book for 2nd or 3rd graders.

I love these series. But most important that my son does. I got 40+ books and he loves to read them (usually it is not that easy to make him read). I got mix of 2-3-4 levels for the second grader, second level is too easy, but it creates some fun and he reads them with pleasure. Love it, I would recommend it.

Un dragón decide independizarse, pero sus padres le dan una lista de cinco cosas que todo dragón que se precie debe hacer (lanzar fuego, correr como loco, asustar, rugir y comer gente). Pero el dragón (spoiler) fracasa haciéndolas, y acaba con un terrible dolor de tripas causado por un sapo, un pájaro molesto y una princesa repelente que se ha comido. Para sacarlos de la barriga buscará la ayuda de una bruja, un gigante, y un pequeño e inteligente pastor de ovejas. Al final, se irá a vivir con la princesa, comerá los panqueques que tanto le gustan y le prepara el sapo, y acabará como amigo de todos.

Loved the book and felt it was a great fit to a grade 3 classroom library.
