Im new to this hobby, what exactly are these used for?

It is customizable but for the most part the levers control things like the throttle (power), mixture (air and fuel ratio), flaps, etc. The switches on the bottom can be used for a lot of things like; parking brake, spoilers, landing gear, pausing the game....pretty much anything that is an on/off function. It's basic function is a throttle control and depending on the plane the configuration would be different to suite your taste or level of realism depending on what you are going for. It is a very good intermediate level throttle assembly and one I still use when I fly. One of the best mid priced units you can get IMO. Hope that helps.

Can I use on Xbox one

I wouldn't think so. It's compatible with Windows and Mac.

Can i conect it directly to the PC so i can use it with a logitech joystick?
