Gingerbread House kit [Set of 4] DIY Gingerbread House, Holiday Activity for Kids, Ease Crafted Grooves Decor Kit of 4 Houses/8 ppl/Fondant/Snowflakes/Candies/Jellies/Beads/Buttons/Tray 60 Pcs Set

This kit was in the mid-price range of the three kits I tried. This made two nice sized, reasonably easy to assemble and decorate houses. No broken pieces (both kits in this brand were extremely well packaged - wrapped pieces, then wrapped all together, then wrapped in bubble wrap and fit nicely into the box - neither squished nor so loose as to rattle around). I ordered three of these kits and there was not a single break or broken piece. The icing is perfect for sticking - doesn't dry so quickly you can't work with it, but dries quickly enough you don't need to prop anything up - press for around 20 seconds and you can move to the next part. Based on experience I let it dry for about twenty minutes before attaching the roof, I can't swear that's necessary for this kit, but once things start to fall apart they are much harder to get back together! I would say this kit is ideal for the 10-14 year old range or the adult who wants to do one but not invest an entire afternoon in decorating. As a former teenager myself, I'd have loved to have had the canvas of the larger house to obsess over, but this one is reasonable for most. For the littlest kids, I'd stick with the slightly smaller but much cheaper house to the far left (reviewed elsewhere - red velvet, supposedly valentines day). In the attached picture the middle house is one of the ones from this kit. (far left is the cheaper red velvet one and far right is the more expensive BIG house from this same brand)

Disappointing to say the least. There is no way anyone could put this together....states that this kit is for ages 3 and up. Well we had three adults making these and had a great laugh. The small tube frosting is supposed to be white but dries clear. Gingerbread pieces broke easily, and definitely not enough frosting to put the house together. Way to many candy pieces for what was needed. Well, they ended up in the trash. Picture the frustration of anyone trying to put this together and a child would have had all the pieces strewn all over the room. Priceless for the laughs of the product.

First time ever buying gingerbread house kits. I bought two - one each for my 4 & 7 year old grandkids. I was worried it would arrive broken, but all pieces were intact. Grandkids started building these last night and finished them this morning. Grampy did help the 4 year old but the 7 year old did hers all by herself. They came out awesome! The main thing is they had a blast assembling and decorating their own gingerbread houses! The key to them staying together and not falling apart is to be very patient. Don’t expect to be able to complete this in an hour or two. Decorate all the cookies first and allow time to dry, then put the sides and roof pieces on, and then let everything sit and dry. It takes some time but so worth it in the end! This will be an annual tradition because the kids loved it so much!

They are smaller than I expected but are nice. Would like to see deminsions listed for the size of finished product. Its possible I missed them.

Sturdy. Had an adequate amount of frosting and supplies. 2 1/2 and 4 year old had a great time putting them together.

Well that was a disappointing complete waste of money - and a downer because we couldn't do a gingerbread house as a fun activity together as planned. The kit was missing several gingerbread pieces and a lot of the candy... and the few pieces that were in the kit, were broken, except this one. (See the pitiful pic of the one peice I salvaged and decorated to make the best of it while watching a Christmas movie) And to add insult to the whole thing, you can't return it or get a refund. Obviously I do NOT recommend. Thanks a lot Grinch! :(

Cute. Fostering is thick. Easy to put pieces together. Not enough frosting for all decorating, but enough to put pieces together
