I use a pair of large diaphragm condensor mics on a stereo bar for live recording and the folding type stands just don't have the heft to support the microphones. I am using an Atlas boom to gain a little more height and the rig is really stable. I like the all-black finish but the chrome finish is nice also. The stand should have a long life.
