Product description CD desertcart.com While director Jeannot Szwarc's 1980 time-travel romance nearly drowned in a sea of its own bathos, the score of the Christopher Reeve/Jane Seymour vehicle has become something of a word-of-mouth classic. Chalk that status up to the great English composer John Barry, whose lushly romantic score has largely overshadowed the film it was written for. Note to Titanic fans: if you liked the score for that film, you may fall in love with (or to) this one as well. Ironically, much of the action of Somewhere in Time takes place in 1912, the year the Titanic sank. --Jerry McCulley Review: THIS BEAUTIFUL MUSIC, CAN TOUCH YOUR HEART! IT IS SO BEAUTIFUL! - This music is so beautiful, and soul-stirring! I highly recommend this CD! This music can stir up your emotions, and it can touch your heart! It is so romantic, and compelling, and can sweep you away with profound, emotions of love, sadness, and joy! I love all the songs on the CD! Some of my favorite on this CD are the following: SOMEWHERE IN TIME THE OLD WOMAN A DAY TOGETHER RHAPSODY ON A THEME OF PAGANINI All the musicans, and composers did a excellant, and outstanding job, I loved the incredible, awesome sound. This is top quality! I loved it! Review: A memorable and moving film score - The score for Somewhere in Time is truely amazing. I think it is one of the best scores ever written. It stays with you long after you have seen the film. The music is perfect throughout the movie. Each scene has exactly the right musical background. The most moving, for me, is the short piece of music that is heard in the scene where an aged McKenna is returning to her hotel room having met Collier. I find it some of the most moving music I have ever heard in a film. For me, I can listen to the score and visualize the scene in my mind, remembering dialog and even remembering clothes that were worn at the time. I think it is partly due to the score that this film has remained so popular over the years since it was released. The score made the movie memorable. It should be in everyone's film soundtrack library.

LOVED IT!
I purchased this product years ago on cassette tape when the mini series came to television. Somewhere along time, I misplaced the tape. I have wanted a CD for years but just never got around to purchasing. So, I finally did purchase it. I love it just as much now as I did back then. It has that lovely, ethereal, romantic feel that I love about some classical music. It is music to which I can relax at the end of the day, or any time of the day. Love, love, love it!!!

Somewhere in Time
I really liked this old movie. I liked the thought of being able to go back in time, and I loved the romance of it all. However, I was disappointed that they ended up "putting the cart before the horse." Call me old fashioned, but I would have preferred they had done things properly. For that reason, it's not for children. I do appreciate that they did not show anything with regard to their intimacy, and how it all wrapped up in the end. It's a tragic love story with joyful moments, and a somewhat hopeful conclusion.

Music from one of my all time favourite films, starring the lovely Jane Seymour and ill-fated Christopher Reeves aka Superman.
