## Description

Product Description An desertcart Brand. desertcart Basics 36 Pack AA High-Performance Alkaline Batteries, 10-Year Shelf Life, Easy to Open Value Pack From the Manufacturer desertcart Basics

Review: No Duds. Solid Quality. Go-To Brand. - 6 Stars. I have never - ever - had an issue with desertcart Basics batteries. And the fact there are no duds and they hold their juice for a long time, enables me to buy a 48-pack with the confidence that they'll be good to the last battery. I keep them in a resealable bag in a garage fridge with all my other batteries. Maybe they're fresh and far from their expiration because they sell such high volumes and turn over their inventory. Or maybe they sell so much inventory because the price is right and there are no/few duds. For what it's worth, I've bought batteries from a national brick and mortar electronics chain and if you open the package and get duds, you can't return them. I bought in order to replenish my wildlife cameras; that's 8 batteries per camera for several cameras once a year. Not including remote controls, etc. Why should I have to buy batteries twice? Why should I have to make a career out of this? I don't need the stress their friction-point policies impose. Now, I can see how folks would return them for a refund but put old batteries in the open package and thereby get free batteries. I get it and it ticks me off that they ruin it for the rest of us. But if you open the package and get duds, you cannot be issued a refund for this very reason. This happened to me twice, that is on two occasions I bought batteries at this chain and they were duds. The second time I refused to take no for an answer for a refund and escalated it up and down the store's hierarchy until I got to a decision maker who could override the policy. But by that time, the damage was done. What ever happened to considering future cash flows from a customer? It wasn't the money; it was the principle that my money wasn't a dud so the product I receive in exchange shouldn't be either. Do you think I've bought batteries there since? Nope. Has it given me less reason to walk into their store and buy anything at all? Yep, 100% actually. No more meandering walks to see what's in store. No more impulse buys. I'll keep buying these. They're so solid. Problem solved.
Review: Great value for the price - Grabbed these during the Prime sale earlier this month. 48 AA batteries for what I paid was honestly a steal compared to what you’d pay for name-brand batteries in packs of 8 or 16 at the store. I’ve been running through a good chunk of the box already — some in my kids’ toys, a few in TV remotes, a couple in a wireless mouse, and even some in a flashlight I keep in the garage. So far every single one has worked right out of the pack, no duds. Voltage seems consistent too (I checked a few with a multimeter out of curiosity, and they were all right around 1.5V I can’t speak to the 10-year shelf life yet for obvious reasons, but desertcart Basics batteries have a decent track record in my experience, so I’m not too worried about leakage down the line. I’ll update this review if anything changes, but for now these are exactly what I needed — reliable batteries in bulk without paying Duracell prices. Just remember these are single-use, not rechargeable, so don’t go tossing them on a charger like I almost did out of habit. Would buy again.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Are these from China too like the Maxell?**
A: FACT: 80% of all sellers on Amazon are from Communist China.

**Q: What's the difference between these "performance" batteries and basic Amazon Basics? (Please don't say the difference is 70 cents.)**
A: My sons tested the Duracell from Costco, Amazon basics and moist recently the white and grey industrial batteries in their xbox controllers. They all got the same amount of use, they do play 24/7 minus the bathrooms breaks, drinks of water and eating. Duracell set the precedent of an average 2 weeks 24/7 game play. And just as Duracell performed the Amazon basics and industrials performed just as long. So I looked into the difference and the industrials with last longer under extreme weather conditions from extreme cold (usually zaps the life from other brands including Duracell) and or extreme heat or excessive vibrations. So I prefer to use the industrials, but through mild summers the basics perform fine, come winter I want only industrial batteries.

**Q: Prone to leaking?**
A: I bought a 48 pack of these about 1 1/2 years ago and have been using them since with no problems. However, just recently pulled a few out of the package, having never been used, and they tested at only 1 volt instead of 1 1/2 volts. Of the 10 batteries that I still haven't used, all of them test at 1 volt or less now. When they were new, all the ones I tested were more than 1 1/2 volts. Not a single one of them leaked, but apparently the 10 year shelf life applies only to leakage, not battery life.

**Q: How long do these batteries last compared to Energizer and Duracell?**
A: If batteries were empires Amazon batteries would be Austro-Hungarian Empire (51 years) to the Duracell/Energizer batteries’ Roman Empire (1058 years).

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Reliable Batteries That Just Keep Working
*by J***R on June 18, 2026*

I’ve been buying these Amazon Basics AA batteries for years, and according to my Amazon purchase history, I’ve ordered them over 60 times. That alone should tell you how satisfied I am with them. These batteries provide consistent performance and last a surprisingly long time in everyday household devices. I use them in everything from remote controls and flashlights to clocks, wireless keyboards, and other electronics around the house. They hold their power well and don’t seem to drain quickly when stored. I also appreciate the value. Buying in bulk saves money compared to purchasing smaller packs at local stores, and I always like having extras on hand when something unexpectedly needs new batteries. Are they the absolute longest-lasting batteries on the market? Maybe not. But for the price, reliability, and convenience, they are hard to beat. After more than 60 purchases, I can confidently say these have become my go-to batteries.
