So I looked into the difference and the industrials with last longer under extreme weather conditions from extreme cold (usually zaps the life from other brands including Duracell) and or extreme heat or excessive vibrations. So I prefer to use the industrials, but through mild summers the basics perform fine, come winter I want only industrial batteries. **Q: Prone to leaking?** A: I bought a 48 pack of these about 1 1/2 years ago and have been using them since with no problems. However, just recently pulled a few out of the package, having never been used, and they tested at only 1 volt instead of 1 1/2 volts.
