Great cd has all songs looking for

Great CD. Good price.

I bought this collection for two reasons.One,because it features Creedence Clearwater Revival's version of the late,great Ricky Nelson's "Hello Mary Lou"(a song written by the late,great Gene Pitney)that I had heard on a radio program(and I didn't necessarily want to purchase the original CCR album that it appears on,"Mardi Gras",their last).Secondly,I've owned the first(and more popular)edition of Chronicle for many years in different formats(first on vinyl,then cassette,and,finally,on CD).This disc makes a nice companion to that first volume,and,with that,as the title of my review states,is all the CCR you'll ever need.It's also nice that each volume appears on a single disc,so this is a worthwhile upgrade for the comparably bulkier 2 record vinyl sets of these releases.

The only thing better than obtaining Creedence Clearwater Revival's 'Chronicles' is getting all their original albums first hand. One minor problem with 'Chronicles 2' is that the song sequence is sometimes out of place. This second collection is basically the leftovers of 'Chronicles' 1. But, boy, what leftovers. As a testament to the greatness of the group, the best songs, including "Born on the Bayou," "Walking on the Water," and "Molina," are formidable indeed. Also essential are hidden gems like "It Came Out of the Sky" and "Pagan Baby". Despite their fame for original songs, the collection provides some fine covers of "Good Golly, Miss Molly," "Hello Mary Lou," and "The Midnight Special". "Cotton Fields" really puts some life in an old traditional song. "Don't Look Now" is a decent variation of "Lookin' Out My Back Door". Although some of the rest isn't always as great. "Wish I Could Hideaway" and "It's Just a Thought" are good, but pale in comparison to the rest, and "Suzie Q, Pt. 2" is a decent, but non-essential, elaboration on the original. Especially for those without a limitless budget, 'Chronicles 2' is a fine supplementary sampler, continuing the greatness for most of us who can't get enough of CCR or 'Chronicles'.

To crank out not one but two solid volumes of musical work attests to Creedence Clearwater Revival's vast musical talent. Decades after they broke up, their music has retained its durability. Hitting right between the eyes with no-nonsense rock songs influenced by country, blues and themes on rivers, bayous and voodoo (which fooled some into believing this California band came from down South), this volume focuses less on the better known hits, and delves into their backlog of tunes. While it does have my personal favorite "Born on the Bayou" and the instrumental conclusion to "Suzie Q", they do terrific covers of "Good Golly Miss Molly", "Cotton Fields", "Before You Accuse Me", and "Hello Mary Lou". But really, there's much to enjoy here from start to finish. Like a good solid truck, CCR has been built to last!

Broken case, however the CD is perfect. No scratches... The vendor shipped fast and the CD arrived as advertised.

This second volume of Creedence Clearwater Revival's best is every bit as good as the first. While containing some great hits, as well as some lesser known tunes, this collection represents an important rock band at the apex of their popularity. The Fogerty brothers are still in top form and had a meteoric rise in a very short amount of time. Do yourself a favor and complete your collection of CCR favorites!

Again these classic albums well CDs are great because they give you the best of the best. Even if you are into the newer music of today these are still excellent groups. Good is good no matter what generation it comes from. I like Hip Hop and Rap too. Variety in music is good. The music just has to be tight. Wouldn't you all agree.

One of the best bands out of the 60s,get this in your collection.
