The Physicians' Desk Reference has been the authoritative source on prescription drugs for 71 years. Found in virtually every physician's office, pharmacy, clinic, and library, no medical reference is more current, more recognized, or more respected. Now in its 71st edition, PDR contains full, FDA-approved drug label information, including warnings and precautions, drug interactions, and hundreds of full-color pill images. Every label in PDR includes information on dosages, side effects, and safety information, such as contraindications, pregnancy ratings, and interactions with other drugs, food, and alcohol. Data on clinical trials are also included. Review: Watching your health with the use of medications - 2017 Physicians' Desk Reference 71st Edition (Physicians' Desk Reference (Pdr)) Wow! Incredible book just what I needed for the family. It seems doctors do not have the time to do their job as it should be done. All the programs on TV tell you to ask questions about your medications and your doctor should be happy to get them and facilitate your request. A more informed patient is a better patient. Wow! not true at any doctors offices or visits I have been to. They leave the very important part of their job to luck and your pharmacist. If you have a bad reaction or allergic one they expect you to call your pharmacist about the problem or go to a hospital. But stop using the medication immediately. I have been on blood pressure medications for as much as 5 years then start having a problem. Went to hospital due to allergic reaction. My wife was put through a lot of trouble washing clothing and bed linens. At the suggestion it may be a change of detergent. In short it took 5 trips to the emergency room over this problem to finally find out it was a blood pressure medication I had been on for over 5 years. Doctors never have enough time to do their job correctly them pass the problems on to others. When I have asked about the situation later on at a visit. We all hear the same thing. Oh! We just practice medicine here it not a sure thing. This book is the same a doctor or practioner uses in their office, you can't go wrong. Sincerely, Rev. Joseph Review: fast service - the item (book) was just fine BUT I ordered the wrong item and had to return it and that process was simple & eash

Five Stars
Excellent medication guide. Am disappointed that the identification portion has been abbreviated so much to render pill/capsule ID useless.

Incomplete compared to prior editions
Very surprised at the abbreviated nature of the 2017 edition. This edition has less than half the number of pages of our 2005 edition. Unlike the older editions, it completely lacks the clinical pharmacology info and the diagrams. Rather than the comprehensive work it once was, it's now just a "quick reference" requiring that you dig further on the Internet to get the complete picture. Very disappointing. If you have an older version my advice is to hold onto it and don't waste your money on a newer edition.

Knowing the intention and side effects
One should understand there has been changes in the last 8-9 yrs that may not be included in a 2017 ed.

Correct Book - Looks Used When I Bought New
I ordered the book as "new". When it arrived, it had the 'look' of a used book. The pages appeared 'warped' like it had been wet or already opened and used. The pages were not tight like other new books. The content will be the same, but when you pay for new, you hope to get the look and feel of a new book. Disappointed!
