Caldwell Scope Ring Alignment and Lapping Kits, 1"-34mm, for Scope Mounting and Gunsmithing

I bought this from Amazon as a "Used Product." It did not come in the original box but all the parts were there. It looks like someone may have used it once and returned it. It's a solid metal product and should last a lifetime. If you work enough with scope's this is great way to improve accuracy and not scuff up your rings or rifle. I recommend this product! The used option saved me quite bit of money and this product would be difficult damage.

not sure if anyone actually needs this, but it does what it says it does. i suppose every bit helps when chasing accuracy.

Great product! Lapping bars are well machines and wear evenly! Works great and is a must have for anyone that is serious about accuracy and mounting optics. Now the down side, the package I received did not have lapping compound. I’m not a stickler for stuff but it was inconvenient. Luckily I had some but it was a bit of a let down there.

Just short and quick. Wheeler has always been great quality. Never really thought before about importance of scope alignment so previously never messed with something like this. It was only after getting a little more serious that I decided to purchase this kit. Once the rings were aligned (individual mounts are most important ... not so much to do with rail systems) I was surprised to see how much difference there was in the surfaces once I lapped down some of the higher areas. Don't know how much this will help with my accuracy but It for sure has to help with a more distributed force on the scope when tightening it down. Just make sure to keep the parts laid out exactly how they were lapped in and use a good torque driver to meet manufacturers specifications. (I use the Wheeler Fat Torque Driver).

I used this kit to properly align my mounting rings. Lapping wasn't necessary. I didn’t know this was necessary until I started outfitting western rifles. Borrowed the same kit from a friend before I bought my own, it’s very easy to use and incredibly helpful in getting your scope properly mounted. You’ll also need a couple of magnetic levels, which are probably in the “frequently purchased together” pane on this listing.

This is a handy tool to have if you are serious about mounting a scope correctly. Easy to use and gives you confidence knowing your scope is lined up properly.

Works well, a must for expensive scope installation.
