Automatic Watch for Men 5-7S Collection

After doing a hefty bit of research (as it is kind of a sport for me) to find an inexpensive, reliable, respectable and very importantly stylish watch; I landed on the Seiko 5's. If I spent more than a few hundred dollars on a watch, I would be likely be to a conscious of it when active. So, not only is the 5 Shockproof, water resistant, day, date, and self winding...it's not bad to look at either. While reading a lot of reviews, some are unhappy about the size of the watch but here's my opinion on the matter. I remember when men's watches were a bit more smaller in design twenty years ago or so, and to wear one now would seem kind of feminine or dated on the wrist. However, I'm not down with the over-sized clocks people are wearing on their wrists either. They can be borderline comical to me to see this machine strapped to a wrist. This watch and another Seiko 5 I purchase a few months prior, are a perfect size for me. They are sporty and large enough to be masculine for active wear yet refined enough to segue to business or evening attire. Therefore, the size is and design of the watch balances masculinity with elegance...in my opinion.

I wore a stainless steel Rolex for 36 years. The service it requires every 10 years has gotten very expensive ( $700.00 to $1,000.00) so I decided after looking at all the Seikos to purchase this model. Windsor Jewelers took 4 links off to fit my skinny wrist for free. The watch works well with no problems so far. A few gentle jiggles back and forth and it has worked ever since. The band looks great, but does not feel as polished as the Rolex. I like the release mechanism to prevent the band from inadvertently opening. The watch itself is very similar in all respects to the Rolex. The luminescent numbers are very bright in low light. My only complaint is that nowhere does it tell you where the watch is made. I spent a lot of time and effort looking into a reasonable replacement for my Rolex . The price is great for this watch and so far I would recommend it to anyone wanting an Rolex style dress watch.

I like the looks of the watch. It is easy to read and so far seems pretty accurate. I like that it is self-winding and requires no battery. The downside as far as I'm concerned is that it's about twice as heavy as my 30-year-old Seiko that I have worn out. It also has a band that is hard to adjust and once I got it adjusted, I could hardly get my hand through the non-stretchable band. I would have preferred either a leather traditional band or a Speidel-type flexible band. So far I like it, but may eventually have to get a more comfortable band.

Let me start by saying that I am no watch connoisseur. I own a $800 Victorinox diver's watch that I received from my wife on my wedding day and I love it. The only problem....the battery dies and I have to send it off to have it changed. Now this Seiko isn't as heavy feeling as the Swiss Army BUT it looks and feels much more expensive than the price tag of $60. It has a smaller face and a sleeker profile which works for everyday wear. The movement is close to seamless (4 or 5 clicks per second). I hope this watch holds up over time. I am a teacher and can't/won't spend the money on a super expensive watch. I would recommend this watch to anyone who wants an automatic watch at an affordable price. I may even decide to buy another Seiko watch in a different style!

This is not Japanese watch, it is Malaysia mechanism. If you take watch of your hand and leave it aside it will stop working after 10min. It should be perpetual movement but it doesn’t work correctly. Very disappointed.

Very nice looking watch. I purchased this for a daily watch that can get banged around. It is much better than the cheap watches that you get from discount stores. The band was easy to adjust the length once you know the proper method (Just look for the links with an arrow and insert a small screwdriver into the slot and press the U shaped locking pin outwards and remove. Then the watch link can be disassembled, then removed and put back together as a shorter band). Was not too big like a lot of the watches around today. I have not had a self winding automatic so I will have to see how this holds up over time. Overall, very satisfied.

This watch was far cheaper than most of the ones I own, yet I love it. It looks sharp, and it has a nice weight. The H-link bracelet is awkward to size, but I managed it after watching a YouTube video.

Just received the watch. It looks nice, but is not as described in Product Details. Back of the watch is clearly marked "Movement Malaysia" but it was described as having a Japanese Movement. Who knows if it makes any difference?

Beautiful Rolex inspired design (with out the Rolex price) and made with Seiko quality, it's great value for the cost. I gave it three stars for accuracy because it spends most of the time on a watch winder, can't say about the water resistance either.

Was wanting a cheap but reasonable looking watch in case of mugging. Does the job very happy with it

I use it almost every day for the last 2 years and it still holds up really well. It has a clean look for a modern-day commute.

I have same problem , because the Watch desn,t work , I do not kwon what I have to do.

Great watch for the price, looks incredible with a Jubilee bracelet. The strap that comes with the watch is flimsy and pulls on hair like crazy, I couldn’t wear it so I replaced it with a 20mm aftermarket bracelet and couldn’t be happier. Looks like a million bucks.
