You definitely need to be in a well ventilated area. It is smelly despite the products claims.

I googled, After purchase, and its has proven cancer chemical in it which scared me. Then i read the chemical is in a lot of everyday things we use. I used the cans on coats. 1 can approx per longish winter coat. Use at your own risk, it does work
