Does the cord come out of the pull so you can install it around the zipper? Or do you just have to loop it around itself?

The cord does not come out, can only be looped. we found cord was to stretchy for our zipper cooler, which is a hard zipper, but otherwise would work great for regular items. not recommended to replace a zipper on a cooler.
