It's not as quiet as my logitech Pebble mouse (which is practically silent) but it's not "loud." Still, someone in the same room will hear the clicks unless there is ambient noise (like HVAC or background chatter).

Is the (new) logitech m575 trackball "logitech bolt" receiver compatible?

It is not mentioned in the paperwork or on the unit. The usb does not have a green lightening bolt. It has the same orange star/wheel/cog symbol
