Unlike others, this tray is thick ceramic and sturdy. I added silicone rings to sandwich the stainless steel mesh to reduce rusting. So far no rust.

I was initially very happy with the jars and the stands — they look good and work well. Unfortunately, the lids started to rust soon after use. Since these are sprouting jars used directly with food, I was surprised to find that the lids are not made from stainless steel. This raises serious concerns about food safety, and I no longer feel comfortable using them. Products intended for food use should not rust, and materials like this should not be used in the first place.

Excellent design and in use. Lots of easy, healthy, cheap sprouting and you really don't need to buy any other salad greens. But, the tops go very rusty. Amazing that the choice of metals allows this for something that will obviously be almost permanently wet. Photo attached. Its not a health hazard but spoils and otherwise excellent product and a few months further on I'm not sure how much longer the lids will last. I'd suggest buy those with plastic or stainless steel lids.

While the mesh is likely stainless steel, the screw-top lid is not and will rust from almost first use. It's otherwise a good product - a pity they couldn't get this right. In the end I'm using two large elastic bands to keep the mesh in place - a work-around that's working, but they need to sort the screw-top lid if they don't want to alienate all their buyers

I was very pleased with my purchase, arrived on time . Very well packaged, arrived in one piece. Easy to use. This item was recommended by a friend, so overall i was very satisfied.
