Hampton Signature – Argentum Hammered – 14 Piece Knife Block Set

I’ve had these for almost a year now. They are sharp, hold an edge well, and the finish and overall quality are top notch. They feel so sturdy. It’s important to note these knives are made of high carbon steel. Just because high carbon steel rusts easily doesn’t mean it’s junk. Quite the opposite actually. High carbon steel is extremely durable, holds an edge well, and sharpens nice and easy. Keeping these rust free is very easy. Simply don’t put them in the dishwasher, don’t leave them in the sink, or soaking, and dry them immediately after washing. Takes 2 minutes to do this. I oil them once every 3 months with curtain board oil. This isn’t required, but helps them stay shiny, and helps recent rust.

I really like this set. I got it cheaper than it had advertised a few months ago. It matches my silverware. The knives keep a good edge. I clean it by hand instead of the dishwasher because I prefer to. I suppose you can put it in the dishwasher if you want. I am happy I bought the knives.

This is the best knife set I have ever bought! I have washed these in my dishwasher several time and no rust!

This knife set is ok but does rust very easily, if I leave the knife in the sink for a few hours it WILL rust rather quickly... so with this knife set be sure wash immediately after use and dry. Do NOT let it sit.

Rusts easilu

This is a great set! I found mine at a local store for cheaper than amazon, so I ended up purchasing there. I've had the set for about a year now and they get near daily use. So far there has been no rusting and they've stayed sharp the entire time I've owned them. Also, I do not put these in the dishwasher because I feel that ruins them quicker and I love that the handles and blade are all one piece so I dont have to worry about any bacteria and food crumbs or anything accumulating anywhere. Now, the reason I gave this set 4 stars is because I did have to rinse the actual block one time and I immediately dried it after, but I've got tons of cracks all over the block and I'm afraid I'm going to have to buy a new one soon. So far I'm being super gentle with it but I'm bummed it couldn't hold up to a small rinse.

Great knives! Very sharp! A great replacement for our old knives!

At sight I absolutely loved these knifes. First time I seen them was at Walmart they only had them on display so I decided to search them here on Amazon and bam I found them! Although they were 20 bucks more I decided to still order them because I couldnt find a set that I wanted as bad as these. Upon receiving I noticed that it was packaged extremely well and the box was perfect so thanks amazon for handling this package with care and providing great delivery service. The packaging of the knife however looked as if tho it was either tampered with dropped and taped up or was used so I was not impressed. So I decided to still open it and saw everything still looked in place in the inside so ok all but one knife had the protective sleeve and cardboard which lead me to believe yes this was opened before maybe someone changed their mind after purchase? Dont know. So I washed them up dried and set up on my counter they look amazing yay I'm happy. After first use and continuously using these if not dried ALL the way these will immediately rust! I do not like that at all so I constantly have to make sure whoever does the dishes makes sure to fully dry them immediately. Do not put in the dishwasher my son put it in there and it didnt fully dry and I cant tell you how horrible it looked. So not impressed with the quality and not impressed with the seller I gave it 5 stars for easy to hold, 1 star for it being giftable because I would not take my chance with bad presentation nor quality so I'll save myself the embarrassment and value for your money while yes it does look good and perform ok I'd rather spend my money else where so 2 stars.
