It's kind of sad but I don't expect things to be super well made nowadays, but this step is truly the real deal. Also? IT COMES PRE-BUILT! No dowels and wood glue and allen wrenches! It is ready to go right out of the box. I have a very high bed--frame was built for storage underneath, and I have full box springs plus a 14-inch mattress plus cushion topper, so my bed hits just below my hips--and I just had surgery, so I needed an easier way of getting into and out of bed than the triple axel leg-hoist-and-haul maneuver I usually perform. This is a bit over 6 inches high, which is very easy, and it is SOLID. I have no fear of it tipping. I have it on a throw rug but it was stable on hardwood as well. My husband is a larger man and it held his weight perfectly. The length and width are very good. It's a stepstool, not a full set of stairs; the size is generous and more than enough to stand with feet several inches apart comfortably. It's also a nice color, almost a true color match to the dark cherrywood of my furniture. (It's lighter in color.) The only improvement I might make is to put some nonslip strips on the top of it. I like my feet soft and smooth and, well, they can get a little slippery, more so if I actually manage to keep socks on overnight. That's it, though. Really truly impressed by an honest to goodness authentic product. Get this! Edit: Nearly a year in, still solid and a great product. HOWEVER, I've noticed two things--if you step on it too far to either side, it will tip. Probably to be expected, it's not THAT heavy. It is, however, heavy enough that if you kick it accidentally, as my clumsy self has done numerous times now, you need to be prepared to explain to your neighbors why they heard screaming. Otherwise, yeah, it is a wonderful, solid, helpful product.

This stepstool is well made, sturdy, and great looking. Most importantly, it is fully assembled! I highly recommend it.

This step stool is extremely well made and sturdy. The only issue I have is that the top is so polished that it's slippery and I need this for a safe way up to my bed.

Quality workmanship. Attractive. I use it mostly for a side surface when on my laptop using a tray table.

A great stool! I got this for helping the wife get into bed after we got a mattress elevator to raise the head of the mattress 7”. Instead of the usual wedge this is a more gentle slope that runs the full length. Anyway, this is the perfect height, plus it matches our oak bedroom set. It does not look like chocolate to us, but it is a nice dark oak stain. Nice workmanship and finish, both outside and underside. It is made in China, but the company is in Virginia and American wood is used. The only criticism is that the pads on the feet are for protecting the floor only. They are NOT GRIPPY. So, we are replacing the felt pads with grippy pads to make this safer, since we have hardwood floors.

Was so impressed with the furniture quality look and workmanship. Perfect size to use for getting into my high bed. Husband tried it and had me order him one, too. We are both heavy and feel safe using this. Also bring into the kitchen to reach high cabinets. No assembly required. Smooth surface and is very stable. Like the hand hold on the top so you can feel when you are stepping on the center. Love, love, love it!

I did not expect to like this stepping stool so much, but it is truly beautiful. It is of such high quality that I don't want to use it to stand on to reach my high cupboards. It feels like it is worthy of more admiration than to be relegated for this purpose. That being said, it is so strong and sturdy, that it gives me a lot of confidence when I stand it. I recommend this stepping stool for the above reasons and I thank the merchant for valuing my money enough to send me a product that is worth every penny. This is rare, so thank you!

As soon as I found this item, ordered it immediately. I couldn't believe the price/ quality and already "assembled". So I thought that I may have to return it once received it. BUT this is amazing! Perfect match with my space, and high-high ended quality. If anyone tired with a clumsy plastic or fake-wood items, this will be an absolutely perfect choice. Love it!

Great stool. Very sturdy. I am a senior and needed a stool that wouldn’t tip. Very well made. Packaged with heavy cardboard for safety. You don’t have to put together. Important to me also.
