Awesome product
I recently purchased the External DVD Drive USB 3.0 Type-C CD Burner Portable CD +/-RW Drive DVD Player for ROM, and I couldn't be more pleased with its performance. From the moment I unboxed it, I was impressed by its sleek and compact design. It’s lightweight and portable, making it incredibly easy to carry around and perfect for on-the-go use.The dual interface (USB 3.0 and Type-C) is a huge plus, as it offers flexibility and compatibility with both older and newer devices. Setting it up was a breeze—just plug it in, and it’s ready to go. No need for additional drivers or software installations, which is a big time-saver.Performance-wise, this DVD drive is top-notch. It reads and writes CDs and DVDs quickly and efficiently, with no hiccups or delays. I’ve used it to play DVDs, burn CDs, and even install software from discs, and it has handled everything flawlessly. The USB 3.0 connection ensures fast data transfer, which is noticeable when copying large files.Overall, this is an excellent external DVD drive that delivers on all fronts—performance, design, and ease of use. If you’re in need of a reliable and versatile external DVD drive, I highly recommend this one. It’s worth every penny and definitely deserves a 5-star rating!

Works as advertised
Been using it for a couple of weeks now and it's worked just fine. Only problem i have is that the type c plug doesn't seem to work. The USB A plug worked but still.. . it's got decent speed so so CDs were fine, haven't tried DVDs yet but I expect they work just fine.

Well below standard product. Not worth
I purchased this product last month. Tried to use it multiple times on 2 laptops.I used it mainly to copy contents from my personal CDs. It could not copy even 1 file of 650 MB even after 1 hour.Even my new laptop (purchased recently) stopped working and had to be restarted forcefully.I can not get replacement also as replacement period is over.It is complete waste of money.Pros : low cost or cheapCons : Sub standard product, waste of money, very very slow, not useful at all.

The cd reader writer was purchased for INR 1220 and it was found to be non functional.. why is that Rs 300 was deducted and Rs 920 was returned. Ideally should have received the refund of entire amount of Rs 1220.

Great CD/ DVD drive but short USB cable
CD/DVD unit worked without any issues at all. Plugs into the USB 3.0 port and runs without any issues or need for downloading any drivers to work as well.CD fits the spindle with no issues and operations are simple. Though the cord for the USB is stupidly short, it wasn't an issue considering my PC has top loaded 3.0 ports and it's flat on the top but I do see the problem with most reviews. All in all very effective and very low cost.

An Archaeologist’s Tray for Resurrecting 1999 MP3 Mixes from Plastic Purgatory
I bought this slim, jet-black external optical drive because modern laptops have ruthlessly stripped away every physical port, slot, and spinning mechanical component in pursuit of becoming razor-thin metal wafers. Apparently, the tech industry decided that shiny five-inch polycarbonate discs belong in the Smithsonian next to flint spearheads. But I have an ancient shoebox full of silver discs labeled with faded Sharpie markers that require interrogation.Plugging the dual USB 3.0/Type-C umbilical cord into my laptop and pressing that tiny, flush eject button launched me straight back to November 1999. Specifically, the beige tower PC in my parents’ wood-paneled den with an internal 4x HP CD-Writer Plus. Back then, burning an 80-minute mixtape was a high-stakes religious ritual. You had to close every browser window, mute your speakers, avoid touching your mouse, and pray nobody picked up the landline, lest a catastrophic "buffer underrun" error transform your brand-new Verbatim blank into a shiny drink coaster. When that motorized plastic tray slid out with a delicate mechanical whir, it felt like opening a sacred high-tech drawer. This Ziweo unit carries that exact same mechanical theater, minus the terrifying buffer-underrun anxiety. The spring-loaded spindle grabs the center hole of the disc with that crisp, sharp snap that modern touchscreens will never replicate. As soon as the laser engages, the drive spins up with that familiar, miniature jet-engine turbine hum—a steady vibrational reminder that physical kinetic energy is reading actual light off physical grooves. It read my twenty-five-year-old burned CD-R full of low-bitrate Limp Bizkit and Smash Mouth tracks without a single stutter, error, or skipping hiccup. The integrated cord tucked into the underside groove means you won't lose the wire in your desk drawer abyss, and having both standard USB-A and modern Type-C on the same tether makes it immune to modern dongle extortion.Rating: 4.8 out of 5 stars. Plug-and-play simplicity, zero external power bricks required, and grants instant access to your dusty, physical media time capsules.

Plug and play on Windows PC
Plug and Play: This External DVD Drive is is powered by USB port, just plug the USB A/USB C data cable into your computer, insert the CD/DVD, then the External DVD Drive automatically recognizes it, use the VLC media player software to read CDs or DVDs. Easy to use.i just hope the power cable is little longer for easier to use on Desktop PC. (Original is 8" long).

Excellent burner for the price!
I got this Ziweo drive to replace an LG DVD burner I had been using for about a year. I burn quite a few DVDs and the LG lasted 500 discs or so. I replaced it with this drive entirely because of its low price, but was pleasantly surprised to see it works even better for me than the reliable old LG did.One of the big things in the plus column for me is that this drive is slightly larger than my LG drive which gives the disc more clearance inside the disc bay. This is important. I have had several issues with discs failing to duplicate because of extra-thick disc labels. These types of labels left very little room inside the LG disc drive, and sometimes the disc would skip off the top of the drive and the burning or reading process would be ruined. This new drive is only a few millimeters thicker than the LG, but this tiny amount of extra room means no more ruined discs due to label issues! On top of that, the drive is built much more solidly than the LG drive and it generates a lot less heat and vibration. Sometimes if I was burning discs on the go and had to set my disc burner on whatever surface was available, the LG would rattle so hard it would slide off. Not so with this Ziweo drive! It is compact and light, but just satisfyingly solid enough to be durable and to hold its own weight down while it is spinning discs. It also has some decent anti-skid rubber on the bottom to keep it from sliding. The only "drawback" I see is that the max read speed is 24x where some drives go as high as 56x. However, I am not counting off against Ziweo for that. When duplicating discs, I had many issues where the disc image wouldn't work when copied at a high speed, and turning the read speed down to 24x resolved this. Since I automatically set max read speed at 24x when duplicating discs, this lower read speed does not affect me. It also does not affect playback of CDs or DVDs so don't let this hold you back. That's another note. While the Ziweo drive does burn DVDs at 8x like most other drives, I ALWAYS set burn speeds for a max of 4x. This is because every single drive I have used, even expensive drives by HP, Hitachi, LG, and Dell, has produced a fair amount of failed discs when burning at 8x but this rarely ever happens at 4x. Since I only burn at 4x I cannot speak to how the Ziweo performs at 8x. However, it has now burned ten dual-layer DVD+Rs at 4x with no issue.I would definitely recommend this Ziweo DVD burner! You won't beat these features and construction quality at this price, from someone who burns 10 to 15 DVDs a week.
