Update.... Fanally, after five years of reliable use the mixer has failed. It leaks badly from the bottom of the mixer bar. As we have had the use of this for five years, almost to the date, it is very good value. At just over £30 it works out at close to £6 per year or just over 10p per week to buy this. Although I am tempted to replace the one that has finally failed with the same product, this one, I have been searching for something similar but can't find anything. So, it quite likely that we will be using the same product again, which I don't mind. As I metnioned in the original review, the jubilee clips need to be tightened soon after installation but throughout the five years I have had to retighten the clips at least once per year and at least three times over the five years I have had to remove the bar completely and refit it again, due to leaks around the taps. It's not a big deal and is only a short few minutes to complete but it would be good if this product was improved so that users don't have to keep messing with it. I am still recommending this as it has lasted a good five years but if I find something better I will obviously buy that product It was difficult to conclude but I finally decided that this product deserves 5*. The issue is as other reviwers have pointed out, it tends to leak at the tap attachment, when first installed. However, there is a simple solution and it doesn't require tape as some have suggested. Simply follow the instructions and install the product. Run both taps and it is likely to show a leak at one of them. Leave it for a hour or two then retighten the jubilee clips. I don't know why this happens but the jubilee clips tend to have more give when they have settled. Once I retightened the clips, there is no leakage whatsoever. So, don't be put off by reviews that highlight the leakage as a problem as it isn't a problem due to it being easily resolved. One of the best things I like about this shower hose is that it can withstand my water pressure, which is extremely high. It makes for a great shower due to both the pressure and the fact that this product can handle it. The system is easy to install and only takes a few short minutes. The one negative thing I find, which is possibly just my own opinion and that is the shower head. For some reason I find modern, plastic, shower heads to be ugly looking. They tend to be bulky and cheap looking. Setting that aside though, the shower head does the job it's intended to do so I can't really score the whole product down because of my own aesthetic preferences. I do recommend this product highly as once the leakage is sorted it is a great product and comes at a good price thus good value for money.

If you need something like this, well you've found it. Why? 1) It works! perfectly, every time. The lever is pressure operated, so it's very easy to use, just the lightest of touches and the water, having being mixed through the single 'tap' at the bottom, then comes out of the shower head instantly. 2) It is very easy to fit! Just two jubilees and two small screws on the covers and it's on - and it stays on. No leaks, no slipping. It's solid. ( If you also need to fit the rail etc, it is also very simple, good instructions come with it too) 3) It Looks good. It's well designed and, because of the easily fitted covers, the Jubilee clips etc are all hidden. 4) The cost. I mean, come on, at that price you cant go wrong! 5) I bought it, fitted it, used it.It's been fitted some time now, good as new and I get the impression it will last for years. So there you go, Its cheap, well built and designed, easy to fit and it works a treat. I'm impressed ( and amazingly clean!!!) A quick update..( August 2018 ). It is now 4 and a 1/2 years later. It is still in use ( used daily ) and is still working perfectly. Never had a single problem with it, never had to tighten the clips, and it looks as good as new. It really is a great product. Another update, May 2020. Over 6 years now and it has just started to leak slightly from one clip. It has been used daily, and for the past year or so with a dodgy shower pipe that had a kink and so forced all of the pressure back into the unit, which probably explains the slight leak. I could fix it but, after 6 years I am going to retire it and buy a new one! I know how easy it is to fit,it's still very cheap and it will last at least until 2026!

I purchased the Croydex Bath Shower Set with a Mixer-ture of hope and trepidation after carefully reading nearly every one of the very mixed Amazon reviews. Despite the excellent advice contained in some, which satisfied me I had all the optimum requirements to make this device work... it didn't. It failed on two vital points - water came continuously out of the back of the taps and the mixer switch would not switch/stay in place, so it wouldn't work as intended. This epic fail was compounded by me checking the washer for seal inside the tap attachment... to which it went promptly down the plug hole! I gave up at that point, philosophically accepting the loss of money as a chalk-up to experience. After all, it was my fault I'd lost the washer, even though it didn't work anyway. The only saving grace was the ability to cannibalise the remains! I was able to save the shower head as an alternative kind & spare attachment to my already-owned Croydex Secura Shampoo/Shower Spray. For less money, this is an infinitely superior Croydex product with longer hose, if no mixer facility. It secures in usual pompette fashion, but with sturdy velcro tap fasteners that mean it does not fly off the taps. But hey! Unscrew the shower head and fill the bath through the hose and you have the water mixed and seemingly hotter than if you filled the bath from the taps alone! (Otherwise you'd have to take it off to mix; a bind which might split or stretch the rubber attachments.) I've further found that it will transfer to any taps the right distance apart though, and can be used to hose down all manner of things in different places. I've even attached it to a longer outdoor hosepipe, once I found a male threaded tap connector to do this with! So my advice is, buy the one Croydex over the other. And Croydex, scrap the mixer set, beef up the Secura and, for those of us without an outside hose tap, make a Secura version of that as well!

This was fantastic ... for three months. I found it really easy to fit, and you do need to give the screws a bit of welly to make the seal tight. It worked exceedingly well and gives a great shower, especially if you have good water pressure. And I think that may have been the problem in my case, I'm not sure. In any event, after three months, it started springing a leak on the hot tap, and no matter what I did, I couldn't stop it. When I took the unit off the taps, the rubber seal around the hot tap was warped, so I think that, over time, the hot water messes with the rubber seal and makes it unworkable. Unfortunate, because it was good while it lasted. I think this would be a very good option for putting onto taps where you're using it for occasional use only, like in a guest bathroom. If you're using it every day, though, it may not last as long as you'd like.
