Can't go wrong with anything from this brand
I've been a longtime fan of Vanicream products, especially their moisturizer, so I was excited to try this shampoo and conditioner set. The shampoo cleans my hair well without feeling harsh or drying, and the conditioner leaves my hair soft and manageable without weighing it down. I really appreciate that both products are completely fragrance-free, which is perfect for anyone who is sensitive to scents or simply prefers unscented hair care. If you're looking for a gentle, no-frills shampoo and conditioner that gets the job done without added fragrance, I definitely recommend this set.

No More Rashes or Irritation
After decades of dealing with rash and breakout -- and not always in the most desirable places -- I finally had my dermatologist culture a rash. It turns out I didn't have psoriasis or jock itch; I have "contact dermatitis," set off by the vast majority of fragrances and additives in skincare and common household products alike. I was told to change everything I used to clean, scent, or groom myself, with the Vanicream product line as the prescribed place to start. I now use the shampoo, conditioner, hair gel, antiperspirant, moisturizing cream, lotion, cleansing bar, and the liquid cleanser -- anything and everything. The shampoo is clear, odorless, and it works up into an attractive lather that removes grease and provides body. The conditioner is also odorless; it's also creamy and luxurious, providing a terrific sense of fullness and hydration. These products have changed my life, and leave me feeling no less clean and presentable. While once afflicted with rashes in sensitive areas of thin skin that literally tore me open at times, I'm now rash-free. My only "cheats" are rare uses of cologne when my confidence requires me to smell like something other than nothing. My body forgives me in those one-off instances, and mercifully doesn't rash up. For those with skin ailments, eliminating fragrances and additives may be a wonderful pathway forward. Here's hoping!-Was this review of use to you? If so, let me know by clicking "Helpful." Cheers!

Pure allergy free hair products
UPDATE>>>>>>>>I have Lupus and terrible skin sensitivities which can cause hives, sores, rashes and welts, which can lead to infections. Not fun. I have had to experiment for years but, have found these tips work for me.....F&C Shampoo, F&G Cream Rinse and F&G Hair Gel are perfect for people with allergies to just about anything and everything. The shampoo does clean so well it strips the natural oils from the hair so if you have dry, brittle and/or natural curly, frizzie hair add a small amount of the conditioner to the shampoo before lathering. You can also add a small amount of organic olive oil to the creme rinse if you have frizzy and/or dry hair. It tames the frizziest hair as well as leaving it very shiny. Adding abit of hair Gel helps keep it calm whilst you dry it, and then syle it, or let it air dry naturally. (My preference).About 3 years ago I discovered the combo of the conditioner, organic olive oil, and a bit of the Clear Hairstyling Gel all mixed together and massaged into my hair, left on for a few minutes then gently rinsed, leaving just a small residue really helps with the frizzies, dry, unmanageable hair.ALSO PLEASE NOTE: Massaging your hair gently with a small amount of organic olive oil, leave on for a few minutes, and then a gentle rinse will help with breakage and with loss. If you do this every 2 weeks it should help with breakage due to brittle hair, and give you a stronger shaft of hair.I have Lupus and terrible skin sensitivities which can cause hives, sores, rashes and welts. Not fun. I have had to experiment for years. But, I find if I use pure products from washing clothing, towels and sheets all separately and use washing: (Method, unscented), to drying: (unscented, unscented, chemical free) see: [...], therefore I use Seventh Generation Free and Clear Sheets in the dryer.I never mix articles like sheets with towels, or rougher fabrics with softer materials. (It will pill your softer materials and make then feel rough on the skin, especially sheets).I look for pure cotton materials for clothing, only. Doesn't have to be organic as long as they are ALWAYS prewashed prior to wearing. For sheets I do use a microfibre polyester, (I know, I know, but its softness is beyond anything I have found after going thru dozens of brands and styles of cotton sheets), and because I have blistering allergies to latex and all its little minions I can wear only latex free socks like Buster Browns.I use most of the F&C products but do not care for the skin cream. It gives me a rash. But them again, other than organic olive oil, which is a simple single natural ingredient, I have not found a single skin cream. to which my skin does not react, so I hope this helps anyone else out there with Lupus, or other immune diseases, and/or hyper sensitive skin.

Great for scalp, but the conditioner is a struggle
โญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธ 4/5This is more of a gentle scalp care, scalp-focused system than a hair-focused one. The shampoo does its job. It lathers well, feels gentle, and leaves hair and scalp clean without any irritation. If youโre looking for a simple, fragrance-free option focused on scalp care, this part is a win.The conditioner, though, was a completely different story. It has almost no slip, and even applying it just to mid-lengths and ends left hair feeling like straw. It didnโt detangle or soften at all, which made it really hard to work through. If you have longer hair past your shoulders, this could honestly turn into a bit of a fight.Pairing the shampoo with a different conditioner works much better. Mixing it with another conditioner has helped too to use it up without wasting it.One small thing, but it would be nice if both bottles were pump style. It would make them a lot easier to use.If you have very short hair or extremely sensitive skin, this might work for you. But if you need moisture, softness, or detangling, youโll probably want a different condition

Finally fragrance free that works for thick hair and does what it claims
This is actually a good hair care product for being fragrance free and I mean fragrance free not even masking fragrance. This shampoo and conditioner is even awesome on my thick black and silver hair which is always tangled with other scent free products. It's finally nice to find one that actually works.

Only shampoo and conditioner I am able to use
I have a severe allergy to coco-betaine, a substance found in soap suds. Before switching to Vanicream, I was constantly uncomfortable and itchy. After making the switch, my head is less itchy, and my hair is clean and pleasant. I believe many people are accustomed to using coco-betaine-based hair products, so the transition may seem drastic at first. However, if you are genuinely suffering from dermatitis or experiencing flare-ups due to a coco-betaine allergy, I highly recommend trying this product.

Great shampoo/conditioner, does exactly what it says
UPDATE: Unfortunately, after about a month it started to give me large flakes. I attribute this to the shampoo as I've used then separately and the conditioner does not give me this issue. So rating is now 3 stars.ORIGINAL REVIEW:I have roseacea so I have quite a few sensitivities and allergies. I have thin, oily hair and I tried low end and high end shampoos. Some of them either irritated my scalp red, dried out my scalp too much, or just didn't do enough for my oily scalp, to give a few examples. I tried to focus on formulations that plumped up my hair and dealt with the thinness issue more than anything, but at the end of the day, I had to be extra careful because if I got some on my face, it had the potential to flare me up. I got tired of trying to cater towards the thinness issue of my hair and potentially making my rosacea worse that I finally settled on just the Free and Clear shampoo/conditioner.Does it plump your hair? No. Does it come in heavenly scents? No. Does it offer heat protection? No. But that's the point. It doesn't have any of those potential chemicals that can cause you issues. After trying the set, I can tell you that it did clean my hair and scalp well and literally got rid of my flakes and slight itchiness that a previous shampoo set was giving me after one wash. My scalp doesn't feel weird any more, it feels normal! I should've just buckled down and started using this set when I was diagnosed by my dermatologist, but I wanted voluptuous siren hair and for years I was trying all sorts of different formulations at the cost of my face and scalp. But I'm done. This set is it and this is pretty much the shampoo/conditioner I just need to stick with. It's not fancy, it's not exotic, but it's the brand that I should be using if I don't want to potentially flare up. Don't be stubborn like me. If you have allergies/sensitivities, I highly recommend this brand. It leaves my hair very clean with still enough moisture from the conditioner, removes my flakes and conditions my scalp enough, and I can have it run down my face accidentally without worrying about redness/bumps on my face/scalp afterwards.
