OttLite T18330 18w Daylight CFL Replacement Tube Bulb, Bulb Type B, Pack of 1

The light is used by my 98-year-old mother, to read, in conjunction with the mounted magnifying glass; it was imperative that it be replaced quickly as she had used it for over seven years... I suggest that a prospective buyer read ALL of the instructions on the Amazon posting for this, or ANY OttLite product. In truth, I had to revisit my mother's light fixture three times to FINALLY find the model number that fell into one of the long lists of model numbers for specific replacement bulbs. Then I ordered the designated bulb to see if it fit, and it did. Now I've ordered a second bulb so that there will be no lapse in use in the future. Otherwise, no issues; the bulb works as advertised.

I've used the Ott light for many years. It is invaluable for close work.

Several years ago, I tried to find a replacement for my Ottlite Daylight gooseneck floor lamp, just to have a spare for when the bulb finally failed. I actually bought a couple of bulbs whose descriptions "promised" they would fit. But, they didn't -- not even close. Even the fabric store where I bought the light couldn't find compatible bulbs. I gave up the search. Luckily, the original bulb lasted more than 20 years (!). But, last week it finally failed, so my search began again. When I saw reviews for this bulb that referred to the OLDER Ottlite lamps, hope returned. This bulb FITS my Ottlite model U203030!!! It requires some careful muscle to push it in (it snaps sharply upon installation), but that's also true for the original bulb. If I could give this product 10 stars, I would.

My mom had purchased the lamp that used these bulbs originally for her sewing she was doing. When I went away to college I needed a good light to read by and she let me have it. Ive used it for years, and the bulb burned out - so bought a replacement and sadly replacement had week spot in the glass at the end tip and well would not work when glass was broken.. Cant fault the company or amazon - just sometimes glass bulbs are difficult to judge if its thick enough or to thin.. I ordered a replacement already. Asked Amazon for refund / replacement.. - So while I wait another couple days id give 4.5 stars if I could - or more but had to be honest that im bummed not having the light working :/ ottlites are great - but waiting for bulbs is not fun.. more so when your a heavy reader like me.. will be waiting a few days for new bulb - then hopefully this one works and slots in nice/easy XD

Great customer service. I ordered an Ott Light fluorescent bulb on Amazon. Bulb shipped on time, no issues there. During the process of replacing the bulb, I noticed the new bulb T18330 did not have the same cutouts in the base, like my old bulb. Picture attached. I tried to contact Ott Light through a number I found on line with no results. I went through the automated Amazon message assistant and got immediate results. I worked with a person named Gina, from Ott Light. She tried her best to answer my questions and resolve my situation. She sent me a new bulb thinking the factory sent the wrong style but basically I ended up with two bulbs that didn’t fit the lamp I was repairing. Gina never gave up though. She told me that one of her supervisors or someone else who had been with Ottlight longer than her was on vacation and would try to come up with a solution for me when she got back. True to her word, Gina got back to me and had learned of a work around which required trimming the matching notches in the bulb receptacle so they didn’t interfere with the new bulb that doesn’t have the notches in its base. I figured as much but didn’t want to alter someone else’s fixture without the company’s, or the owners consent. In the process of trying to find the correct bulb for this particular desk lamp, Amazon and or Ottlight refunded my original purchase price and I still have the extra bulb they sent. I contacted Gina and explained I have two bulbs and have been refunded, she said to keep both bulbs and that they were just happy to resolve the issue with this particular situation. I am always happy to share good experiences with todays customer service. Thanks to Gina, I will consider buying an Ottlight in the future. Thank you Amazon and Gina at Ottlight. Scott M. This is a replacement bulb for my craft light which is perfect for fall illumination of my work area. It works well as expected.
