Works well
These pumps have been fully submersed in shallow wells. About 17 volts directly from a solar panel (50 to 100 watt) is sufficient to raise water about 6 meters from the static level and through 100 meters of pipe at around 12 liters per minute. They work even better at 24 volts, such as with boost converters from 12V-nominal batteries, and certainly it's easier to find components to automate a solar system using an attached battery. My only difficulty in using these has been damage from sand gouging the rotating part, making it unbalanced. If debris stops the rotation, there is an automatic shutdown after a few seconds and power must be shut off to reset it. So use a proper screen on the input, and perhaps a low-loss check valve in case the debris was already in the delivery pipe.
