I bought this in September and works better than expected. We recently moved in a house and it had two oak trees with branches over the pool, and we struggled to keep the pool clean of leaves and acorns. Thankfully the Pool Blaster Max HD is strong enough to pick up the acorns. Our pool is a 19000 in-ground pool with a hot tub, and the battery last for a full pool cleaning. So much easier than using a hose and floor vacuum. User tip: when pulling out of the pool, be sure to turn upside down and remove it fast once you break the waterline. If not, it will allow dirt and debris to fall back into the pool. I highly recommend this product.

I have a 24' round above ground pool. I was looking for an easy to use pool vacuum that did not need to be connected to the filter. Since my pool is above ground, I did not want to spend the money on an automated vacuum. This vacuum is perfect! Easy to use. Great suction. Easy to store. I will address some of the issues I read in the reviews and questions as I have not have a problem with any of them. 1. The power button is not hard to find or turn on/off. It is a clearly indicated red button that pushes in easily when ready for use. I turn it on just before lowering it into the pool. 2. The included filter picks up sand, leaves, and hair. I purchased the sand/silt filter because some of the reviews stated the included filter did not pick up sand. It is still in the package. There is no need to purchase an additional filter. I have two daughters and myself all with long hair and my pool is situated between pecan trees so there are always leaves, hair, and sand in the pool every morning. The leaves I can see but the hair and sand it picks up is amazing. Quite disgusting if you really think about it. :) 3. My initial battery charge lasted about 5 hours. It takes me about 30-45 minutes to vacuum my pool (that time will diminish with experience I'm sure). I was able to vacuum every day for almost two weeks before re-charging. I did have a little difficulty getting the charger connected to the vacuum but I'm sure that was just user error. All in all, I'm very pleased and satisfied with this purchase and I'm sure you will too.

I have had this product for about 3 months and find it to be invaluable for keeping my 16 ft round above ground pool clean. My poll has a solar cover so most of the large stuff is kept out but smaller stuff, bugs and a a handful of leaves find there way in. Plus, as the kids are in and out constantly, grass clippings, sand and soil find there way in. I find it works extremely well. It comes with two sock type filters, course and fine. I always use the fine (which actually sits inside the course one). I guess there is an ultra-fine one that doesn't come with it. I could probably use it as mine will not collect the finest sand/soil grains. After cleaning, the finest grains just float in the water (I'm assuming, you can't actually see them), some of which will find their way in to the pool filter. When the filter is turned off and the pool is not in use for a few hours, the finest grains that remain in the water sink to the floor again. Not a big deal for me, but it would be nice if the vacuum cleaner came with the ultra-fine filer (hence 4 stars). Here are some considerations/tips from my experience with the Blaster: 1. My Intex pool came with a pole, but it's not a "standard" diameter pole and therefore doesn't fit on the Blaster, I had to spend another $20 on a "standard" pole 2. The Blaster will only work while completely submerged, you'll need the extension hose if you need to clean shallow areas such as steps, or want to suck stuff from the surface 3. When removing the Blaster from the pool after cleaning, keep the Blaster submerged and remove the pole, then remove the Blaster head first. Due to the design of the vacuum, as you left it out of the pool the water drains out. If you lift it out handle first, much of the captured debris will flush back in to the pool as the water drains from the vacuum. If you pull it out head first, the water will drain through the filter and keep all the collect debris in the vacuum. 4. My Intex pool came with a Bernoulli style floor cleaner that requires a running water hose to be attached and therefore adds water to the pool. I found this to be undesirable since I have a salt water system. The solar cover prevents evaporation so the pool level never drops. After a few cleans with the Intex system I had to drain some water from the pool and thus reduced the salt concentration. The Blaster doesn't require any hoses to be attached and is therefore very quick and easy 5. I have not had any problems with the battery yet. The instructions give some advice on how the maximize battery life. One thing that I think most people might do is leave the Blaster on charge when not in use. This is not advised in the manual. They recommend that it not be left charging after the battery is fully charged. So the charger should typically be removed after a few hours of charging. 6. The on/off switch is possibly the strangest thing about the Blaster. The electronics of the Blaster are in a water tight compartment with a water tight cap that provides access to the charging port. The Blaster comes on when the water tight cap is fully closed and turns off when you open the cap. So you have to be careful when turning off the Blaster that you don't let any of the pool water that is draining from the Blaster get in to the electronics. I think I have successfully achieved this by only opening the cap a small amount, enough so that the that motor stops, and waiting until the Blaster has drained and dried out before opening it for recharging. Again, the manual gives some advice about making sure that you leave the Blaster with the port open facing downwards while it dries out.

This does the job in no time. I had the older version of this product and this model lessens the time to clean and seems to have much more power. I love it. Keeps my 15ft. Round pool debris free. I highly recommend it for its ease of use and long battery life per charge.

This pool vacuum definitely exceeded my expectations. My dog has her own ramp/ladder to get in and out of our large, above-ground pool, and uses it whenever she feels like a swim. I was looking for something to help with spot cleaning between hooking everything up for a full vacuum. However, I haven’t needed to do that once this year now that I have the Pool blaster - about 6 weeks. Suction on it is great and the basic filter it comes with is all I’ve needed to vacuum up silt, pebbles, bugs, and seemingly limitless amounts of dog hair. The battery lasts longer than the cordless dyson we have inside - more than enough juice to do the whole pool. Even if it were to fail on me at the end of this season (which I don’t expect it to), I’d still buy another one because it’s made my day to day pool maintenance so much easier. Wish the charging port was a little easier to maneuver, just double check your connection.
