Content is excelent
Content is very good, packed with helpful information , professionally done. My only problem withe the book is the quality of paper and the size of the fonts ( some texts are very dificult to read ) . Otherwise it is written bei a profesional artist that knows what he is speaking about ! Well done

Excellent book by and for painters.
Finally, a painting book for me. Underpainting, glazing, dead color, taking a painting from start to finish, but particularly following the old masters techniques, is exactly what I've been looking for for years. Thank you for finally getting around to an actual teaching book. Only wish it included acrylic. Highly recommended.

Traditional oil painting techniques
This book is very useful and thorough if you want to learn the basics about traditional oil painting techniques. It tells about basic theory in colour, contrast, light, shades, imprimatura, umbra underpainting , grisaille etc etc. It also teels about brushes, oils, thinners and the pigments. The only thing I don't like is that he doesn't advertise you to wear gloves.

The aythor has done exellent work and the book will help beginers and advanced painters to understand and practice techniques that will bring their paintings to a higher level.
