For this price, you absolutely cannot beat it if you're looking for something functional and low cost. We needed something inexpensive near our door where we could put on our shoes and to hold a few odds and ends that we need for walking the dog that we didn't want just laying around. Doggie bags, light, few pair of gloves and a hat or two. It's solid and just what we needed. Doesn't wobble and sturdy enough for two average size adults. Much better quality than what I've found in the local stores. Like others said, directions are horrible. If you're fairly good at reading diagrams, you can figure it out but if you follow the other reviewer's instructions it'll make it go much quicker. We had a little trouble screwing in the hinge since the pilot holes weren't drilled correctly, but wasn't that big of a deal. Suggest just marking them off yourself from the start. Otherwise, piece of cake to put together. One other note, not product related: Fantastic delivery on this. Got it so quickly. Just got fed up Monday trying to put shoes on standing up and found this and ordered that evening. Received and put together Thursday (today)!

This is a great little bench! I knew I wanted a bench, I saw this one and waited, and waited, and then, after a few weeks decided to give it a shot, with much apprehension. I should have purchased it immediately instead of waiting. This review is based solely on the bench NOT the instructions. I followed the instructions as posted by another reviewer which were very helpful. I have this bench at the end of our bed as it sits too high to sit on and put on my shoes. I am able to fit my work shoes, casual shoes, slippers and flip flops on the bottom shelf. ( I wear a size 12 shoe.) The storage is also ample for a bench like this. I use it to store my cycling clothes; 1 pair cycling pants, 3 pair cycling tights, 2 pair cycling shorts, 2 pair wool socks, 2 cycling jerseys, and 1 cycling bib. Yes, it's a tight fit, but that's no big deal. I am 6' tall and 205 lbs. I would feel comfortable using this bench as a step stool to change a light bulb. My wife and I can even sit side by side with concern about structural integrity. It is solid. It is attractive, solid, and, for the price, well worth it.

I wanted a shoe bench for my very small entryway. I was not looking for something high-end so I did not have to worry about wear and tear in a high-traffic area. I live in a townhouse so my foyer/mudroom is quite small, it literally is just an entrance to the staircase. I have a habit of taking off my shoes in my home and require my guests to do so too. This little bench fit perfectly...I took care to measure the length, width and height to see if it would fit over the baseboard heater in the foyer. It did! I am thrilled because it covers the ugly baseboard (the rest of the house is heated by forced air so the baseboard is an eyesore/futile). I wanted a shoe bench that had storage so I can keep my winter boots/summer sandals as the seasons change. The depth of the bench fit two of my boots and a pair of heels. I fit four pairs of shoes on the bottom rack. So it is great for 1-2 people at the most. The quality isn't that fantastic. There were slight bubbles on the top of the wood. However, this does not bother me since the price is pretty low for solid wood. I actually think the small flaws give it a rustic look. It was easy to assemble, took me about 20 minutes. I think the quality is higher than something I would get at IKEA, but not quite close to say, Pier 1 Imports. I would buy this product again. Keep your expectations low and you will be pleasantly surprised.

Good wooden bench for my kids to store their shoes and give em a place to sit in the entry way to take them off when they come home from school! It's solid wood construction, so it's going to impress you for the price. It's not a typical DIY put together piece of cheapo junk you'd buy from Wal-Mart. Those are all usually veneered junk or some sort of press wood garbage that usually chips and breaks or is just totally ruined as you try to put em together. Have peace of mind knowing you'll be getting a nice little bench that even I can sit on and put on my boots. I weigh 220 and it supports me just fine. I bought it mainly for my 5 kids though and they use it to store their shoes underneath. The amount of space for shoes is about 4 to 5 pairs. It's nice looking to for the price. Easy to assemble as well. Two thumbs up!

As others have said, the assembly instructions were good for nothing. My husband had several choice words to say while putting it together. One star off for assembly. It is pretty sturdy once you figure out the assembly on your own. I wasn’t happy with the color. My bench was much lighter than the picture. It is almost a blonde wood. I’ll probably paint it but if I had known I wouldn’t have gotten this one. For about $20 more I could have gotten one that matched the furniture in the room. I’ll take another star off for wrong shade of wood. I’ll share a pic soon.

I just assembled the bench in about 40 minutes using the diagram enclosed. While there were no steps included, I didn't find it that difficult to figure out. My advice would be to work on one side then slide the thin boards in then close it up on the other side. My hinge came bent so I had to bend it back, but it still seems sturdy so im not going to return it or complain. Shipping was great. Nothing was damaged and with the exception of the bent hinge, it is perfect! I can't wait for my front entry to be ready so I can really use it! It is very sturdy and can handle my weight and more. I am happy with this purchase.

I am satisfied with this product over all. The product is only $59.99, so I didn't expect it to look super amazing or sturdy; however, it exceeded my expectations. It looks neat, sturdy, and nice by my front door even though there are some rough inside surfaces of the storage compartment, some very minor chips and poor painting job up close. They are so minor to me, I don't really care much. I am thinking of spray-painting the top part of the bench to cover up some paint flaws and also give some color. By the way, I agree with the people who said it comes with the poor assembly instructions, but don't be afraid! It is pretty straight forward to put this thing together. You might have some screws that aren't going to be used, so don't freak out if you see leftovers. The shelf can hold four adult shoes easily (men's size 10), and under the shelf, it's a little tight, but I was able to fit my simple sneakers, flat shoes, and flip flops (women's size 6). I have no regret purchasing it.

Easy to put together, required a screw driver only for the little latch that keeps it open. Nice and sturdy.

Good bench and pretty easy to put together although instructions are not so good. One big point of weakness is the support bracket for the lid - it is really poor and very weak, which doing nothing to help

This bench is a classic case of your get what you pay for! Perfectly serviceable and easy to assemble, however made from noticeably cheap materials. The bottom and back of the inside are basically a heavy duty Bristol board. So, a little disappointed with the quality, however we won't be returning it because it's compact and suits our needs perfectly. Just overpriced in my opinion.

I needed something in the main bathroom and this did the trick. It's functional and nice to look at.
