Age 2-6 Boys & Girls. This illustrated childrenโs book is for all the little boys and girls that love lawn mowers . Youโll encounter a riding mower, a push mower, an old-fashioned reel mower, and the most modern and colorful mower out there. In this delightful spin on the beloved classic The Little Engine That Could , a little ball gets stuck in the tall grass. After asking several lawn mowers to help the ball, a green electric mower agrees to help. Even though he is small and not the toughest model, the kind mower tries his best to cut his way through the thick grass to get to the little ball. Bits of facts about each type of lawn mower have been beautifully woven into the story, providing little gardening-tool enthusiasts with a story that lets their love for mowers come to life. My wife bought this book for me to read to our one year old son since she knew I loved that book and I also do part time landscaping work. Although my son doesnt seem too interested in the words I speak while I read, he really enjoys the pictures and enjoys watching me get excited when I read the book. It is a simple story but it carries an important message for children- to keep at something no matter how much you doubt yourself. It is a modern day -Little Engine That Could and I will continue to read it to our son for years to come. I am grateful for the author who wrote this book. Review: Great book for lawnmower obsessed kids! - Our toddler is currently obsessed with lawnmowers and he loves this book. We have read it at least 20 times since it arrived in the mail! The pictures are great and we love the story.

My son loves it, some sentences are pretty awkward
The great thing about this book is that it is all about lawn mowers! With pictures of lawn mowers! And there is a page about weed whackers, hedge clippers, leaf blowers, and all the other lawn equipment my 2 year old is OBSESSED with! The pictures are cute and clear. The only negative is that the writing is often a bit awkward. The reason seems to be that the author was very careful to mirror The Little Engine that Could, seemingly to the level of sentence-by-sentence. But that book was first published in 1930, making it 87 years old! So you're starting with source material that already feels a little bit out of date. This leads you into some sentences about "the otherwise sparsely lit area" that do not flow off the tongue easily, nor are they easily understood by the young crowd this book will appeal to. It's not entirely a bad thing, it's good for kids to hear a lot of different words and have a chance to learn some new ones. But I guess I feel like this book is a little bit too heavy on the seldom-used vocabulary, and some of the sentences are just plain awkward. But hey, my son loves to read this one (it is all about lawn mowers!) so it's still a winner in our house!

A great read along story for your little man & you. Great moral message too! Highly Recommended.
Your young boys will love this story! It instills them with the right kind of internal fortitude and teaches them to be good to those around them. I am a fan! This was the first Yvonne Jones illustrated kids' book I got my hands on. It is a delight to read. I'm hooked on her work: the illustrations are gorgeous and the moral of this story is just right for youngsters as they start to develop their social skills. I'm a professional Children's Birthday Party Entertainer always on the lookout for good stories for children. This certainly meets the muster. Your little ones will enjoy 'The Little Mower That Could'. This is Kids' Birthday Party Entertainer approved. If your child loves this story, which I'm sure he will... I highly recommend getting Jones' newest book into his hands: 'Lil Foot the Monster Truck'! Such fun too! Lil Foot The Monster Truck

Mower storybook
My son really likes this book. He has autism and is obsessed with mowers. Itโs the only mower story book - I have found. Itโs quite long as bedtime stories go. There are good learnings from the story also.
