High quality molds safe for my family!
I purchased these molds because my daughter cannot have any liquids that are in plastics. I almost didn't buy them due to the price, however after using them (now for the 3rd time in 24 hours), I am looking forward to buying another set! The set comes with 6 stainless steel molds, mold holding tray, stainless steel popsicle mold lids, and colored discs to hold the sticks in place (that go inside the lids). We also got some extra discs (I suppose for color coordination.) My first batch was banana berry smoothie made with goat milk. It was a thick mixture made in the evening. By the next morning, the popsicles were ready to go and easily slid out by running the popsicle molds under cold water for a second or two. Hot water melted the popsicles too much inside the mold (so when I took it out it was melty on the outside). Lesson learned... use cold water to get them out. The kids loved them, and I have to say the popsicle lids double as DRIP CONTROL! The sticks fit firmly into the discs, and the mold lids are angled so any liquid that drips down is caught (AKA not all over my children's hands). Even they liked that. Two down in the afternoon, so I put some BLU Frog energy drink into the two molds. Note: when putting carbonated beverages into molds, leave more room. I forgot that little tidbit and had a bit of popsicle trickling down the sides later. Tonight after dinner the kids finished off the first batch of popsicles while my boyfriend and I had energy drink pops! They were great! The molds were super easy to work with. I'm REALLY surprised! Being stainless steel, I thought I might be asking for trouble with them but they are AWESOME! The size of popsicle is quite generous, as well. I put a third batch into the molds after dinner so all of us can enjoy pops in the morning... blueberry canteloupe with dates and goat milk. Who can argue with that? These puppies could even be eaten for BREAKFAST and be okay. I just turned into the fun mom again! I don't know what else people would be looking for in molds for a review, but pros and cons so here goes: PROS: quick & easy release from molds, DRIP CONTROL design, colored discs for marking flavors, tray keeps pops upright, doesn't take up much space CONS: price (but TOTALLY WORTH it after using them, especially because they last forever) If you are on the fence about these... bite the bullet and get a mold you can pass down to your own children one day!

Get rid of plastic & make your best ice pops ever!
This set of Onyx stainless steel ice pop molds has inspired me to make my best Popsicles ever! I happened to purchase these molds right as "Popsicle Week" was being celebrated on numerous food blogs. If you're in need of ideas for your ice pops, search for Popsicle Week and you won't be disappointed. I also recommend Fany Gerson's book "Paletas" for basic how-to information and loads of creative ideas. Although these molds cost more than I would typically pay for a set of platic molds from the dollar store, the quality is undeniable - and no BPA or other plastic worries. These molds could become fought-over heirlooms in my family. :-) Stuff to know: - Each individual mold holds about 3 ounces of water by volume, unfrozen. Your specific results will vary because you're probably not going to use these to just freeze water. Leave about 1/4 inch for expansion. - Individual molds are super handy for making very small batches or even "one-offs" of different flavors. Great for accommodating different preferences or experimenting. Use the silicone circles in the lids to color-code your batches. - It's easy to make layers of flavor combinations if you have a few small Mason jars and an immersion blender. Make a different flavor in each jar, spoon a little into the molds, let freeze for about 20 minutes, then add the next layer. Continue layering as desired. There's minimal clean-up for the effort, and the pops will look so fancy, lol! - It takes about 5 hours for pops to freeze solid (maybe less, depending on your freezer) - Buy a bunch of Popsicle sticks to go with your new molds. You don't get that many with the set, and you're going to want to make a lot of ice pops to justify spending so much on stainless steel molds. My husband and I don't mind reusing sticks just between the two of us, but there's no way I will serve used sticks to guests and I wouldn't want to reuse sticks from pops they've consumed, anyway. Ick. - It's amazing that 3 oz of a mixture of plain yogurt, coconut milk, fruit and honey can feel like such a treat, but it really does. Homemade ice pops are great for cutting down on or eliminating less wholesome treats and the built-in portion control really helps. - Most kids would roll their eyes if you expected them to be excited about a tiny bowl of yogurt and fruit for dessert, but freeze it into ice pops and they can't get enough. Bottom line: get these ice pop molds and never look back!

Best on amazon!
I just bought the 3 top rated popsicle makers on this site and put them to the test. The orka (sp?) is made of silicone and is smaller but really hard to release and pull the silicone mold off the Popsicle. This product is the opposite. PROS Easy to unmold (hot water for 5 seconds voila) Super easy to clean. Soap and water and it's clean, unlike silicones propensity to hold onto oils. Super easy to use.... No "metal shavings" or whatever the other reviewer whined about. These are stainless steel AND seamless....perfectly clean In our freezer we get a Popsicle in 2 hours CONS Slightly big for a toddler

Best popsicle molds I've every owned or used!
My kids (ages 13, 11, 10 & 9) and I all love these molds. We've owned and used a variety of different types over the years, but none of them held a candle to the quality of these. They stand up to the beatings my kids can put them under (dropping them on concrete without suffering so much as a scratch), and I'll never have to worry about things like chemical leaching or the molds cracking over time. The only thing that I don't like about them, is that they don't come with reusable sticks. I'd love to see these come with stainless steel sticks. I know the makers are saying they're going to have bamboo ones available in the future, but for now, I'm stuck trying to find good quality sticks that aren't made from chemically treated wood.

OK Popmaker / Somewhat involved
We got this metal one to avoid using plastic. It works well, makes a good size pop in a reasonable amount of freeze time. There are a few pieces to this -- a bit more involved than a tooth pick in an ice cube tray filled with OJ like we used to do back in the day . . . but if you're up to put all the piece together, this make a decent fresh-juice pop. Sometimes its tricky to get the pop to release -- you run it under warm water -- most of the time they just pop out . . . sometimes you really need to blast it and you get a part-melted pop. Its an okay pop making option, nothing wow about it.

The BEST Popsicle Mold
We love our Onyx popsicle mold! We've had it for about a year now and not a day goes by that it isn't in use. We have an autistic son and are trying to avoid all things chemical and especially to avoid plastic. A year ago we searched the internet for hours to find the highest quality and most competitively priced stainless popsicle mold. We were fortunate to have come across this wonderful product because we have been extremely happy with our purchase. Life Without Plastic appear to have recently copied the popsicle mold, but are charging more for it at $7.95/mold or $47.70 for 6 popsicles. Unfortunately for Onyx that's what happens in the marketplace when you have a truly great product. Luckily for Onyx, LWP cannot beat their competitive price (especially considering the time and effort put into designing the first of its kind on the market). My children had accidentally discarded a few caps for the molds, so I called Onyx to see if it was possible to get replacements (the caps help to hold the stick in place while the juice/liquid freezes into a popsicle). The customer service was excellent. It turns out that the mold's creator answered the call herself! A mom of two kids who lives in Canada's west coast and who has designed and marketed this all by herself. As a fellow Canadian and mother of multiple children, I was very proud of her accomplishments. A short while later my complimentary popsicle caps arrived in the mail thanks to a very supportive and kind customer service department (smile). Thank you for creating such fun and safe product. My kids love the molds and especially that they are shaped like rockets, like rocket pops (we do not have the issue that other customers have reported...come on people this is what popsicles look like and how they have been shaped for over 50 years).

WOW! Excellent quality, last for years, Made in America! A+++
Awesome quality - not like that cheap plastic garbage you get from products made in China. This is 18/10 stainless steel so you know it will last for years, and it has no BpA that everyone is so worried about being in our food supply. The 6 different color bottoms are color-coded, and you get extra bottom pieces, just in case your son/daughter (or you, no judgment here ha ha!) have a favorite color that you want. The bottom pieces also have a popsicle stick sized slit so you can pour in your liquid, put on the bottom cover, then slide the popsicle sticks right in. The carrying piece is great to keep everything straight up and down so that the pop doesn't lean like the Leaning Tower of Pisa when you turn it right side up. I am SO glad we bought these - they are the best part of summer! :)

Poorly made / DANGEROUS!
These pop sticks are not smooth down the side - they have three sections (like a rounded step pyramid) with two seams (or as some other commenter said - they look very phallic). Also, the sticks are wood, not stainless steel as suggested in the photo. Each mold is stamped with the note "ONYX 18/8" - ONYX is the brand. The round metal lids have little round colored plastic inserts that the sticks fit into, and it looks like there are extra inserts shipped of various colors. The holding tray is painted white. Unfortunately the seams on two of the pops have long tiny threads of stainless steel sticking out, which causes a hazard. As such, I cannot trust that the other four pops are safe either, as I cannot run my finger along the most inner seam (it's too far). I will return this unused product to Amazon with a safety warning. This product is not fit for selling to consumers - they clearly have no quality assurance as these would not have passed US safety standards. I cannot find a "made in ___" sticker anywhere which seems fraudulent as well. As such, my search for stainless steel pop molds continues... DO NOT BUY THIS EVEN IF YOU ARE DESPERATE FOR A STAINLESS STEEL SOLUTION!

It really is as pictured.
This is a nice set. It does have a nice shine on the outside. While some have said it's very small, actually, we find the size to be perfect. The tops for the popsicle stick are nice as well. Well polished. We do recommend this set.

Fabulous Popsicle Moulds!
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these! They are awesome, so much so, that I’m seriously thinking about getting a 2nd one. Each one holds about 110 ml and I’m currently using them to make sugarfree ‘Fudgesicle’ type frozen treats. (I’m doing low carb). I’m planning to try a chocolate custard in them soon as well, and also a vanilla ice cream that I’ll dip into a sugar free chocolate mixture. They release very easily after running them under cold water for a few moments and I either rinse them out under hot water or put them in the dishwasher (including the re-usable bamboo sticks). I’m really glad I broke down and spent the extra money on these - they are fantastic quality and they will be in constant use!
