Unfortunately, this pack is way too long for my torso - I am a 5'8 woman with average build, and found that the fit of this pack was such that tightening the straps to raise the pack up made the shoulder straps sit up by my ears and not lie on my shoulders as intended. Otherwise, the bottom of the pack is halfway down my butt, which probably wouldn't be an issue for hiking, but I think would get in the way for mountain biking and be uncomfortable for running.
